Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in dbt and AWS-based data platforms.
- Design, develop, and maintain data transformation pipelines using dbt.
- Build reusable and scalable logic using Jinja and dbt macros.
- Work extensively with dbt configurations, project structure, and parameterization.
- Implement and optimize dbt materializations (incremental, snapshot, table, view, ephemeral).
- Define and maintain data models aligned with business requirements.
- Apply data quality checks and testing strategies using dbt and relevant packages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data transformation and pipeline issues.
- Contribute to best practices in data modeling and dbt development.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with dbt (Core and/or Cloud) – 3+ years
- Deep understanding of dbt internals:
- project configuration (e.g. dbt_project.yml, profiles)
- variables, parameters, environments
- macros and Jinja templating
- Experience working within AWS ecosystem.
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Nice-to-have Skills:
- Experience with Amazon Redshift.
- Familiarity with Data Vault modeling concepts.
- Experience with orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow / MWAA).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows.
- Exposure to data observability tools (e.g. dbt packages, monitoring tools).
