Job Description
Natixis in Portugal is currently seeking a Senior Developer to join its Payments team, within the IT (Information Technologies) department.
Main Responsibilities:
- Create a design for software applications that meet specified requirements by analyzing requirements, identifying appropriate architectural patterns and establishing a blueprint for development to ensure a well-structured and functional software solution aligned with desired functionality and performance goals.
- Write code to implement software applications based on the design by utilizing appropriate programming languages, frameworks, and libraries to translate the design into functional code, transforming the design into executable instructions and building the core functionality of the software application.
- Conduct tests to ensure the functionality, reliability and quality of the software applications by developing and executing test cases, performing testing and analyzing test results to identify and rectify defects, validate the software against requirements and ensure a high level of software quality.
- Identify and resolve software defects and issues by analyzing error logs, using debugging tools and applying troubleshooting techniques to eliminate software malfunctions
- Create documentation that describes the software application, its features and its functionality by writing technical documentation, user guides and API documentation to facilitate understanding, usage and maintenance of the software solution by providing comprehensive and accessible documentation.
- Identify root causes by employing analytical thinking and applying problem-solving techniques to resolve software issues and improve efficiency.
- Work closely with the team, project managers and business analysts, understanding requirements and clarifying objectives to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the project’s scope.
- Keep up-to-date with the Industry and best practice trends, using insights to implement new processes and initiatives in the organization.
- Actively engage in and apply various development methodologies, to effectively collaborate, contributing for successful delivery as well as improving the development process.
Qualifications
Hard Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- 4+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on backend technologies and architecture, preferably in the payments or financial services industry.
- Proven experience in leading technical teams and projects, demonstrating strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Proficiency in Java (latest versions, 17 or 21; 21 preferred) and related technologies, with hands-on experience in developing scalable applications.
- Knowledge of Spring Boot Framework - 3.4.x or 3.5.
- A good understanding of Angular 21 or close.
- Knowledge of Kafka and Spring Batch.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., OpenShift, AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and best practices in software development.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) is preferred.
- Proficiency in English - minimum B2 level (mandatory).
- Proficiency in French is highly valued.
