About Natron Energy
We founded Natron Energy in 2012 to design and manufacture sodium-ion batteries. Our headquarters are in Santa Clara, California, and we have a manufacturing plant in Holland, Michigan. Our batteries are designed and made entirely in the U.S.A., using U.S.-sourced minerals and meeting Build America, Buy America (BABA) requirements.
Our batteries use a patented Prussian blue electrode chemistry that combines Prussian blue with sodium ions. This chemistry allows for fast charging, quick power delivery, and a cycle life of over 50,000 cycles. Our sodium-ion batteries are safe, non-hazardous, nonflammable, and cannot experience thermal runaway. We make them from abundant, readily available resources, and they contain no conflict materials. Our batteries meet UL 1973 standards, and a UL 9540A test report is publicly available. They offer up to 10 times more discharge cycles than lithium-ion alternatives.
Our products provide critical power for industrial applications such as AI, data centers, peak shaving, and power quality management. They also provide backup and supplemental power, supporting decarbonization in sectors like data centers, oil and gas, aviation, and solar. Our products include:
- BluePack™ Critical Power Battery: A 25kW, 48-volt battery for systems up to 812 volts.
- BlueRack™ 250 Battery Cabinet: An industrial battery cabinet (V80 VDC) that recharges in under 15 minutes.
- BlueTray™ 4000: Delivers 4kW at 48V DC over a 2-minute discharge (6kW peak power), designed for over 50,000 cycles.
Mission & Values
Our mission is to transform industrial and grid energy storage markets with our sodium-ion battery products, which are based on a unique Prussian blue electrode chemistry for various industrial power applications.
Team & Culture
We have between 51 and 200 employees.
