Job Description
Role Purpose:
NBCUniversal seeks an Associate Counsel, Employment Law to provide strategic and practical legal counsel for NBCUniversal Local Stations, Telemundo Enterprises and NBCUniversal business units throughout Latin America.
Responsibilities:
- Provide employment law advice and counsel to human resources, management, business affairs and other internal lawyers across the company on a variety of employment-related matters including but not limited to business restructuring, workforce management, recruiting & hiring, accommodations, leaves of absence, discrimination, harassment & retaliation, and wage-and-hour issues
- Provide advice and counsel on internal investigations of employment-related and other types of complaints, ensuring that claims are promptly and thoroughly investigated and documented appropriately
- Managing various aspects of the pre-litigation process, including conducting internal investigations and drafting responses to federal and state agenciesโ charges of discrimination, and negotiating resolution with opposing counsel and/or agencies
- Represent the Company working with other in-house and outside counsel as appropriate, with respect to mediation and litigation of employment claims
- Create and deliver management and employee training programs covering various employment laws throughout the United States and Latin America
- Support the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures, keeping abreast of all pertinent federal, state, and local laws and communicating changes and trends in those laws to Company personnel
- Advise business and human resources professionals regarding regulatory compliance with employment and labor laws throughout Latin America
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
- Member in good standing of the State Bar of Florida or member in good standing of another State Bar and registered as in-house counsel
- 2+ years of experience practicing in the area of employment law
- Spanish language proficiency, both written and oral

This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the Miami, Florida office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
