Job Description
NBC News is seeking a driven Associate Producer to support our investigative unit producers on all aspects of reporting, researching, and storytelling. This associate producer will work closely with producers to pitch, develop and execute compelling journalism on a range of topics and issues, including original, enterprising and investigative reporting. Agility, versatility, and a willingness to embrace different formats, platforms and show needs is a must —from morning show storytelling to hard news evening broadcasts and streaming to native vertical video producing.

Responsibilities:
- Partner with producers, correspondents, senior editors and show teams to develop, report, and deliver strong, visually compelling stories with clear narratives and deeply researched journalism.
- Support producers in researching, pitching, writing, and fact-check stories across NBC News linear and streaming platforms, including daily news, longform pieces, and cross-platform content.
- Secure guest bookings in a competitive environment; conduct pre-interviews and prepare talking points.
- Possesses a collaborative spirit while being able to carry the load when needed.
- Work with editors to ensure high-quality video packages, graphics, and sound.
- Partner with Legal & Standards to ensure all content adheres to editorial and corporate guidelines.
- Maintain strong communication between the correspondent, senior leadership, and production teams.
- Contribute ideas for a wide range of content including news-of-day, original, and investigative stories reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong journalistic writing, research, and editorial judgment skills.
- Experience shooting (DSLR or similar) and editing (Avid and/or Adobe Premiere)
- Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments under tight deadlines.
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime with short notice.
- Proficiency in using PACER, LexisNexis, Westlaw, and submitting FOIA requests.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to collaborate across teams.

Additional Requirements:
- Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary range: $75,000- $85,000
