Universal Television Entertainment is responsible for world-class television entertainment. The division programs and markets content across leading entertainment brands Bravo, NBC and Peacock, and produces over 3,000 hours of television annually through Universal Studio Group, the studio business comprised of Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios and Universal Television Alternative Studio. Together, these teams align NBCUniversal’s content and production expertise to inspire global audiences with television that entertains and shapes culture.

Job Description

The Communications Coordinator will support the Universal Television Entertainment Unscripted Communications department (Bravo and Peacock Unscripted) with administrative and operational responsibilities. This position will report to the SVP, Communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform administrative and department support tasks including phone coverage, managing calendars, creating and disseminating TV highlights and listings, reconciling invoices, coordinating screeners/mailings, filing out creative briefs, maintaining editorial calendars, creating tune in alerts, coordinating high profile internal and external executive meetings, updating press lists, booking travel, and other assignments as required
  • Work hand-in-hand with the east coast coordinators to compile the daily clip packet, distribute press materials to key executives, keep team apprised of all breaking news, and monitor social media for all network and series-related coverage
  • Manage, hire and train staff interns every quarter
  • Assist the department with booking talent travel, creating schedules, and coordinating onsite coverage
  • Support with organizing press junkets, print interviews, set visits, photo shoots, etc.
  • Collect and write monthly listings highlights and manage dissemination of photos, electronic clips, and press releases
  • Work with awards team to ensure all deadlines and materials are properly submitted
  • Assist in the creation of show press materials and programming releases
  • Develop positive relationships with press, talent and their representatives, producers, production staff and programming executives to assist press managers in maximizing press coverage and minimizing crises
  • Oversee the team’s finances, including maintaining show budgets, reconciling invoices, tracking spending, and getting vendors registered

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications/Public Relations/Journalism
  • 1+ years of experience in media, entertainment, or television publicity
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Additional Requirements:

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
