Job Description
Background:
NBCUniversal Media Group is looking for a Manager of Consumer Insights to join our team, driving primary research initiatives that bring the voice of the consumer to the growth and strategy teams for Peacock, NBC, and Bravo. This individual will be a critical player within the Insights team tasked with executing primary research and conducting robust analysis in support of the growth strategy plan for the business. In this role, you will conduct research on the U.S. media consumer and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to inform business decisions around pricing and bundling for the Peacock streaming service, as well as distribution across the ecosystem of traditional and online video (dMVPD, SVOD, FAST, and social platforms).
The ideal candidate is a consumer insights/primary researcher with quantitative expertise ready to have an impact and help drive strategic decision-making. You should have experience leading quantitative primary research initiatives and conducting advanced data analysis. We are looking for a candidate with a deep background in leading a range of primary research studies, including surveys and advanced quantitative methods like MaxDiff, conjoint and drivers analyses.
Responsibilities:
Help design and execute all phases of research workstreams, including writing briefs, drafting surveys and discussion guides, managing survey fielding, analyzing banners & crosstabs, conducting advanced data analysis developing insight narratives, and presenting findings
Synthesize qualitative, quantitative, and first-party signals into clear insights in support of Growth Strategy Plans for the business, contributing to building a successful streaming service and expanding the reach of our entertainment brands
Oversee monthly landscape tracking to deliver a comprehensive view of consumer behaviors and preferences in TV & streaming
Support management of relationships with external research agencies and vendors, ensuring high-quality deliverables
Build relationships with the Distribution, Growth Strategy, Partnerships, and Advanced Analytics teams, helping them achieve their objectives with strategic insights backed by thoughtful and robust analysis
Become a subject matter expert on all things primary research, to support peers & internal stakeholders and develop your career
Leverage innovative research methodologies and AI-enabled tools streamline repeatable workflows (e.g., survey design, coding, synthesis, visualization)
Help foster a consumer‑centric culture by bringing human insights and the voice of the consumer into briefs, recommendations, and decisions
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
5+ years’ experience in consumer insights or market research within entertainment, streaming media, or a related industry
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in a relevant field (Quantitative Methods, Market Research, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, etc.)
Advanced proficiency in survey analysis tools (e.g., displayr, Marketsight, SPSS, etc.) required
Statistics proficiency and experience required, with an ability to conduct advanced statistical analysis (i.e., regression, factor, cluster) and other quantitative methodologies (e.g., MaxDiff, conjoint, Gabor-Granger)
Skilled in quantitative primary research design and project management, including advanced survey writing, survey data analysis and vendor management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting insights to cross‑functional partners.
Desired Characteristics:
Experience leveraging GenAI research tools (e.g., Microsoft 365 Copilot, Listen Labs, etc.) preferred
Live the values of collaboration and teamwork, operating as one team across NBCUniversal Media Group
Additional Requirements:
- Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
- This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
