Job Description
Team Overview:
You will join our office in New York City or Los Angeles as part of the Finance Data Operations team within NBCUniversal’s Corporate Global Controllership. Reporting to the Senior Director of Data Governance, you and your team will work across all business segments—including Studios, Parks, and Media—while collaborating closely with colleagues across Finance and IT.
Role Overview:
The Director, Finance Data Stewardship (RTR) plays a critical role enabling accurate financial reporting, scalable operations, and value realization from NBCUniversal’s SAP S/4HANA transformation. This role is accountable for the governance, quality, and operational execution of core finance master data that directly impact reporting, close, and downstream accounting processes.
You will support the Global Controllership by leading finance master data governance across core enterprise objects, including but not limited to Company Codes, Profit Centers, Cost Centers, and G/L Accounts. This role partners with our global businesses and IT stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing operation of SAP MDG, while overseeing high-volume data stewardship activities supported by offshore teams.
The role requires deep expertise in accounting and controls, with a strong understanding of how these are enabled within SAP S/4HANA charts of accounts and enterprise structures. Working in close collaboration with solution integrators, the Director will evaluate SAP best practices and guide fit‑to‑standard process decisions in partnership with Controllership Global Process Owners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Record to Report (RTR) finance data operations for the Global Controllership, specifically COAs and RTR master data (think profit centers, cost centers, statistical internal orders, and GL accounts)
- Accountable for data governance/stewardship policies and procedures related to the RTR data domain
- Translate governance policies to end users clearly communicating the value and benefits it brings to downstream processes.
- Leverage accounting expertise to advise on appropriate use of master data
- Manage complex requests in a timely and professional manner
- Provide operational support seeking opportunities as a SME within your pillar for areas of data stewardship process improvements and automation.
- Own operational excellence for your team building helpdesk support processes and robust operational reporting for management
- Ensure data quality is reviewed and KPIs are meeting agreed upon standards
- Build stakeholder consensus and ensure everyone is on the same page, in agreement, and can understand solutions being proposed.
- Understand NBCU business needs and requirements and maintain good relations, however, also serving as a change agent for the SAP S/4 transformation.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- University degree required: Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years of accounting and finance experience working in SAP
- Demonstrated experience managing master data stewardship initiatives including policies & procedures, stewardship operations, and data quality monitoring
- Solid understanding of balance sheet and P&L reporting requirements and design
- Experience managing a global team and/or shared services operations
- Ability to drive standardization in a decentralized environmentv
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) and Zendesk
- Experience working in large/matrixed organizations
- Media Industry experience
This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary range: $145,000 - $190,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible).
