Job Description
Summer 2026 Feature Lighting Internship:
Applications close: March 16, 2026 at 11:59pm PT
Program Dates: June 8 - August 14, 2026
Time Commitment: Full-Time (40 hours per week required)
Format: In Person
Responsibilities:“What would you say you do here?”
Works closely with CG Supervisor and Lead Lighter to achieve the visual target for assigned shots or lighting tasks and address all lighting notes.
Responsible for taking shots to completion.
Works well with others and fosters a good working atmosphere.
Troubleshoots creative and technical issues as they arise.
As needed, organizes and documents any lighting tools, scripts, or processes.
Collaborates with other departments for timely integration of elements into assigned shots.
Manages individual shot load based on the schedule to meet timelines.
Attends dailies, lighting launches and any other team or department meetings as required.
Responsible for informing CG Supervisor of any shot issues.
Participates in the testing of new technologies as required.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: “What do I need to have in order to do this job?”
Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at a College/University (or equivalent), or being a recent graduate (within six months of graduation date).
Passion for working as part of a lighting team in feature animation.
Desire to learn all aspects of the lighting pipeline.
Curiosity and teamwork.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be willing to work in Glendale, California.
Ability to provide own relocation, housing and transportation.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Desired Qualifications:“What can I offer?”
- Some understanding of the lighting process, including rendering and compositing as well as the tools and skills required to be a lighting artist.
Hourly Rate: $17.87
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
