Job Description
This 12 Month FTC paralegal role would suit an individual who has experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department and is interested in intellectual property licensing matters and able to work in a fast-paced in-house legal team managing a high volume of contracts, documents and other legal and administrative tasks supporting our Consumer Products business across EMEA and APAC. The role works with several lawyers within the team and the ideal candidate will be a team player, proactive, responsive, detailed-oriented, organised and adaptable.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing draft license agreements, amendments and other legal documents from existing templates under the supervision of lawyers and other senior members in the team.
- Circulating agreements to all parties and acting as a first point of contact for any changes required.
- Filtering comments to facilitate answers to queries across internal departments.
- Preparing and circulating redlines based on changes required by the business under the supervision of lawyers.
- Maintaining an independent workload as well as supporting lawyers when required.
- General legal administrative duties, compiling signatures and maintaining filing systems and digital databases/e-signature systems.
- Drafting letters and correspondence.
- Coordinating between the Legal team and business partners on workflow, tracking, and legal delivery of documentation.
- Assisting with managing contract workflow with licensees, licensing agents and category teams.
- Embracing additional duties, projects and legal research as the need arises.
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Experience of working as a paralegal preferably within a commercial or intellectual property team of a law firm or in-house at a media & entertainment company handling licensing matters and with familiarity with intellectual property and contract law.
- Familiarity with legal software and tools (DocuSign, DMS, Salesforce etc.)
- Highly organised and efficient with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with a range of personalities and establish effective working relationships.
- Adaptable and capable of excelling in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and reliably in a fast-paced, changing environment with a diverse and often heavy workload.
- Proactive with an ability to identify, prioritise and manage urgent work assignments, and manage expectations in respect of other tasks.
- Ability to know when to ask for assistance and guidance from more senior members of the team.
Additional Requirements:
- Hybrid: This role will generally be contributing from the office a minimum of four (4) days per week (Mon-Thurs).
