Job Description

NBC News Group Commerce is seeking a versatile Photographer and Graphic Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a creative powerhouse, highly skilled in both general photography and graphic design skills. This position will be responsible for supporting the NBCU Commerce Studios Art Team in the creation of graphics and photos as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Capture high-quality editorial photography for digital platforms, aligning with brand voice of NBCU Commerce brands.
  • Conceptualize brand photoshoots from pre-production through post-production, including shot planning and styling.
  • Edit and retouch images using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).
  • Develop visually compelling designs for digital and print materials, including marketing campaigns, social media, presentations, and brand assets, collaborating with cross-functional partners (marketing, product, editorial) closely.
  • Execute design projects from concept through final production, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and business objectives.
  • Assist in developing templates, style guides, and design systems to streamline workflows and ensure consistency.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced editorial environment, meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Oversee file management, archiving, and organization of digital assets for easy retrieval and reuse.
  • Stay current with industry trends in photography, design, and media to continuously elevate creative output.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and freelancers when needed for larger projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Photography or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a Designer and/or Photographer for a brand, agency or editorial company
  • Portfolio demonstrating creativity and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Google Workspace
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Can-do attitude with openness to learn new skills

Additional Requirements:

  • Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000
