Job Description
The Film Strategy & Business Development department is a highly visible group that works closely with senior executive management across NBCUniversal and Comcast. The group works in conjunction with other business units within the Entertainment Group on a wide range of strategic initiatives.
The Film Strategy & Business Development department seeks a highly qualified candidate for the position of Sr. Analyst, Film Content Strategy. Specific projects will include research, analysis, modeling and recommendations related to industry trends, slate planning, M&A, internal business performance improvement and expansion opportunities. The position offers unique exposure to a wide variety of verticals within the media and entertainment industry.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Supporting Vice President, Film Content Strategy and working closely with groups across Universal Entertainment to develop analyses and recommendations regarding the competitive landscape
- Evaluate box office data, streaming viewership, survey results and qualitative research to identify content trends, regularly summarizing and presenting findings to senior leadership
- Facilitate long-range slate planning activities and manage associated financial models
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives across the NBCUniversal portfolio, including evaluation of organic growth and M&A opportunities
- Track internal and competitive content performance to inform industry benchmarking exercises
- Formulate presentations for executive management on current Universal Entertainment initiatives
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant industry experience (strategic planning, management consulting, investment banking or corporate development, ideally in the entertainment industry)
- Excellent quantitative & analytical skills, including significant financial and data modeling experience
- Ability to interface effectively with multiple levels of management, ranging from senior corporate executives to business unit managers and third parties
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to author and deliver high quality, executive level presentations
- Proven project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Desired Characteristics:
- Prior experience in management consulting or investment banking preferred
- A solid understanding of and passion for the film industry along with broader media business models
- Superior Excel modeling & PowerPoint experience required
Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.’
This position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package sponsored by the company, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k)-retirement plan, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and access to various discounts and perks.
