Job Description
Company Description
Nearmap is the Australian-founded, global tech pioneer innovating the location intelligence game. Customers rely on Nearmap for consistent, reliable, high-resolution imagery, insights, and answers to create meaningful change in the world and propel industries forward.
Harnessing its own patented camera systems, imagery capture, AI, geospatial tools, and advanced SaaS platforms, Nearmap stands as the definitive source of truth that shapes the livable world.
Job Description
See the world differently. Design it brilliantly.
At Nearmap, we capture the world from above — giving businesses, governments, and communities the aerial imagery and location intelligence they need to make smarter decisions. Our technology is powerful. Our product is remarkable. And now, we’re looking for a Digital Designer to match.
This is a role for someone who cares deeply about craft — and equally about impact. Someone who sees design not just as making things look good, but as making things work.
The role
As Digital Designer, you’ll be the driving force behind how our brand comes to life across digital channels — translating creative vision into web pages, campaign assets, and digital experiences that are both visually compelling and built to perform.
Working closely with our Senior Creative Designer, you’ll take brand and campaign concepts and turn them into polished digital executions — designing with a strong instinct for UX, web behaviour, and how people engage with content online. You own the digital execution: ensuring everything we build is consistent, considered, and conversion-aware.
You’ll partner with our Growth, Content, and Portfolio Marketing teams to produce and scale assets across the full channel mix — from landing pages and display advertising to email and social — helping Nearmap show up with impact at every stage of the buyer journey.
This is a role where design craft and commercial thinking go hand in hand.
What you’ll be doing
- Design and optimise landing pages and web pages that balance strong visual storytelling with conversion best-practice, working within and building new components in our CMS, Storyblok
- Respond to briefs across the marketing team to produce high-quality digital assets — display ads, social graphics, email templates, and web visuals — that are on-brand and built to perform
- Scale campaign assets efficiently across formats, sizes, and channels, delivering work that is consistent, well-crafted, and on time
- Collaborate with the Senior Creative Designer to faithfully bring campaign concepts and brand direction to life in the digital space
- Apply UX thinking to every digital touchpoint — considering how users move through pages, interact with content, and convert, not just how things look
- Champion brand consistency across all digital outputs, ensuring Nearmap’s visual identity is applied accurately and with care across every channel
- Monitor and iterate on performance — partnering with Digital and Growth Marketing to A/B test assets, interpret engagement metrics, and use data to drive design improvements
- Build and manage the component library in Storyblok, creating reusable, structured components that support the wider team
- Leverage AI production tools to scale asset production intelligently where appropriate
- Support external design contributors when work is outsourced, holding quality and brand standards firm
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
Experience
- 3–5 years in digital design, ideally within a B2B, SaaS, or tech environment
- Figma is your everyday tool — for design, prototyping, and collaboration
- Solid working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Experience designing and optimising landing pages with conversion in mind
- Comfort working within a component-based CMS — Storyblok experience is a bonus, but what matters is that you think in reusable, structured blocks and can build and configure pages independently
- A portfolio demonstrating range across web, digital campaigns, and scaled asset production
Skills & approach
- Strong grasp of graphic design principles — typography, colour theory, layout, visual hierarchy — applied with a digital-first mindset
- A genuine understanding of UX and how design decisions affect user behaviour, page flow, and conversion
- Data-aware: you can read performance metrics and use them to improve your work
- Organised, self-directed, and able to manage multiple briefs simultaneously without dropping the ball
- A clear communicator who asks the right questions, flags issues early, and presents work with enough context for useful feedback
Bonus points for
- Motion or video editing skills
- HTML/CSS awareness — you don’t need to code, but understanding how things are built helps you design smarter
- Direct experience with Storyblok or a similar headless CMS
Who you are
You’re a digital native who thinks in digital first — you understand how people behave online, what makes a page scroll-stopping versus scroll-past, and why good design and good performance are the same thing.
You’re craft-driven: meticulous about typography, spacing, and hierarchy, and you hold yourself to a high standard even on the smaller briefs.
You’re collaborative and easy to work with — you take feedback well, communicate openly, and bring energy and reliability to the team.
And you have a genuine curiosity about design, technology, and where the two meet.
Qualifications
A degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Design, or a related field is valued — but what matters most is your portfolio. Show us digital design craft, range, and an ability to execute across web and campaigns, and we want to hear from you.
