Job description

Senior Data Migration Consultant –US Healthcare

Title: Senior Data Migration Consultant – Healthcare (Gurgaon)

Location: Gurgaon (Hybrid/Onsite)

Experience: 6-8 years

Role overview

You will own endtoend data migrations for healthcare operations platforms used by hospitals, health systems, and payer organizations. This includes migrating provider, credentialing, enrollment, payer, and network data from incumbent platforms (e.g., Symplr and other provider data management / credentialing solutions) to new target platforms. You will lead client conversations to define scope and requirements, design the migration approach, and roll up your sleeves to execute data profiling, mapping, transformation, and quality checks, while guiding a junior data analyst/engineer whose role also supports Payer & Revenue Analytics when migration workload is low.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead discovery and design workshops with Healthcare Organizations, and payer stakeholders to understand existing provider data, credentialing, enrollment, and payer/network data landscapes.

  • Define migration scope: systems in scope, types of provider and payer data (credentialing, privileging, enrollment, network participation, directories, etc.), history/depth, and quality expectations.

  • Analyze and profile source datasets from provider data management, credentialing, enrollment, and payer/provider network systems to assess completeness, data quality, and mapping complexity.

  • Design target data mappings into the new healthcare operations / provider data platform, including entity and fieldlevel transformations (providers, locations, affiliations, contracts, specialties, plans, networks, rosters, etc.).

  • Build and run migration pipelines (SQL, ETL/ELT tools, or scripts) for extraction, transformation, loading, and reconciliation of provider, credentialing, and payer data.

  • Define and execute data quality, validation, and reconciliation checks, including recordcount comparisons, referentialintegrity checks, and samplebased validation with business users.

  • Act as the primary offshore point of contact for the U.S. implementation team, providing clear status updates, surfacing risks and issues, and recommending mitigation options.

  • Mentor and review the work of a data analyst/engineer responsible for extraction, validation, QC, and pipeline support.

  • Provide direction and prioritization to the data analyst when they are supporting the Payer & Revenue Analytics team (e.g., defining datasets, validation rules, and quality standards for analytics work).

  • Help create and maintain internal playbooks, templates, and reusable migration accelerators for future migrations between major vendor platforms.

The data analyst/engineer reporting into this role will:

  • Support data migration projects by handling extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation tasks under your guidance.

  • When data migration project load is low, support the Payer & Revenue Analytics team with:

  • Building and maintaining datasets and queries for dashboards and analyses.

  • Assisting in analyses related to provider networks, payer mix, utilization, and reimbursement.

  • Applying the same data quality and validation standards used in migration work to analytics use cases.

Required skills and experience

  • 6-8 years overall experience in data engineering, data migration, ETL, or implementation roles, with at least 3–4 years in handson migration or complex integration projects.

  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large relational datasets (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, MySQL).

  • Handson experience building and maintaining data pipelines using ETL/ELT tools or scripting (e.g., Python, SSIS, Talend, Informatica, dbt, or similar).

  • Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following domains:

  • Provider data management, credentialing, privileging, provider enrollment, provider directories, or payer/provider network data.

  • Other healthcare operations / administrative data (workforce, compliance, scheduling, revenuerelated operations data).

  • Proven track record of designing and executing data validation and QA processes for migrations or integrations (reconciliations, sampling, signoff with business stakeholders).

  • Experience running clientfacing/stakeholderfacing sessions: requirements gathering, solution walkthroughs, UAT support, or implementation workshops.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex data and migration topics to nontechnical SMEs.

  • Comfortable working with distributed teams and overlapping with U.S. time zones.

Nice to have

  • Experience with provider data management and credentialing platforms (e.g., Symplr, CredentialStream, Medallion, MedTrainer, etc or similar provider data / credentialing / payer platforms.

  • Exposure to EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, NextGen, MEDITECH, Allscripts) that can be leveraged for related projects within the broader organization.

  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability and administrative standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, CAQH, payer enrollment file formats).

  • Experience in a healthcare SaaS, credentialing, provider data management, payer operations, or healthcare consulting environment.
