About nPlan

We started nPlan in 2017 to provide AI software for forecasting and de-risking construction projects. Our AI is trained on 750,000 historical schedules, representing over $2 trillion in construction spending. This technology helps teams identify and address risks early, make smarter execution decisions, and prevent major delays and cost overruns. The platform is compatible with existing scheduling tools like Oracle, Powerproject, and Microsoft Project Plan.

Our platform has four main uses:

  • Plan: Create and edit new schedules from scope documents using Generative AI. It also identifies schedule integrity issues automatically and allows for schedule comparison and interrogation.
  • Assure: Forecasts the uncertainty of every activity in a schedule, for activities, milestones, projects, and portfolios. This offers a higher degree of accuracy than traditional methods.
  • De-risk: Identifies risky activities, compares them with uploaded risk registers, and uncovers systemic risks that affect portfolio delivery.
  • Deliver: Provides intelligent summaries of project or portfolio risks, opportunities, and progress. This helps track strategic risk themes and manage actions through project and portfolio control rooms.

Our AI currently manages $500 billion worth of projects. Our large dataset of past project schedules covers various capital project sectors, including highways, rail, public buildings, commercial buildings, heavy infrastructure, oil & gas, utilities, and data centers.

Notable clients and partners include Laing O’Rourke, Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU), Google, ExxonMobil, Galliford Try, BAM, Rail Projects Victoria, Skanska, Kier, Network Rail, Shell, Costain, HS2, Anglian Water, Suffolk, Chevron, Singaporeโ€™s Land Transport Authority, and Hong Kongโ€™s MTR.

Beyond the platform, we also offer the nPlan Academy. This is a series of courses to help users get familiar with our software and technology, providing certifications in AI project controls and delivery.

Dev Amratia (CEO) and Alan Mosca (CTO) co-founded nPlan. We raised our seed round in 2017 and secured $18.5 million in Series A funding, led by GV, in 2021. We are a Series B startup.
