Job Description
As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for the core financial controllership, reporting, and compliance activities for the UK, Ireland, and the broader EMEA region. You will ensure the integrity of financial data, maintain robust internal controls, and support the Group’s evolving sustainability and ESG reporting frameworks. This role plays a vital part in regional finance operations, including the integration of the New Client Platform (NCP).
What You’ll Do:
- Manage the monthly and annual financial close processes for EMEA entities, including revenue recognition, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant reporting in accordance with IFRS and local accounting standards.
- Prepare and review management reports and statutory financial statements for the UK, Ireland, and other EMEA countries as required.
- Manage the preparation and coordination of statutory audits for UK, Ireland, and relevant EMEA entities, including subsidiary Board reporting.
- Prepare audit schedules, liaise with external auditors, and address audit queries in a timely manner.
- Ownership of daily safeguarding reconciliation process
- Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax filings and compliance
- Oversee compliance with corporate tax, VAT, and other indirect tax obligations in the UK, Ireland, and EMEA countries.
- Prepare and submit quarterly financial regulatory reporting within required timeframes
- Prepare and coordinate ESG reporting inputs for Group Annual Report
- Foster collaboration and clear communication with the broader Group finance team and regional business stakeholders.
- Maintain and improve internal control frameworks and ensure compliance with Group policies and regulatory requirements.
- Identify control gaps and lead remediation efforts to mitigate financial risks.
- Lead initiatives to improve financial processes and controls across the EMEA region.
- Utilise ERP and reporting tools to enhance operational efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with the Group Financial Controller, Assistant Group Financial Controller and global finance teams on group-wide finance projects, including NCP, policy implementation, and system upgrades.
Qualifications
What You Bring:
- CPA or CA qualified
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline 5+ years’ experience in controllership or senior accounting roles within a multinational or publicly listed company
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP (if applicable), and EMEA statutory reporting requirements
- Proven track record of managing statutory audits and tax compliance across the UK, Ireland, and EMEA jurisdictions
- Familiarity with VAT, corporate tax, and other indirect tax regulations in EMEA
- Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (such as D365, Oracle, SAP, NetSuite)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across diverse teams and geographies
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proactive, collaborative, and continuous improvement focused style
