About the Role
Ontra is seeking a Director, AI Operations reporting to our Vice President, Business Operations and Strategy.

What You’ll Do
- AI Operations Leadership & Strategy: Lead a centralized AI operations unit that guides departments in executing AI initiatives, serving as the key expert on integrating AI into business workflows and processes.
- Internal AI Automation Roadmap: Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for AI automation projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and facilitating the transition of emerging AI capabilities into actionable solutions.
- Company-Wide AI Training & Enablement: Ensure all employees receive relevant AI training to enhance job efficiency, fostering an environment where AI adoption is standard practice through curated resources and empowered AI advocates.
- Community of Practice Leadership: Oversee the AI Ops Community of Practice, promoting regular knowledge sharing and collaboration among embedded AI personnel across departments to support project success.
- AI Governance, Security & Tool Stack Management: Manage the internal AI tool stack, ensuring compliance with security standards and effective vendor relationships in collaboration with Engineering, Security, Procurement, and Legal teams.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with department leaders to identify high-impact AI opportunities, assisting in workflow optimization by providing support, best practices, and removing obstacles through a responsive partnership model.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 8+ years in relevant roles with 3+ years leading business transformation and 1+ years focused on implementing AI automation in business operations.
- AI Implementation: Proven hands-on experience with AI tools including Large Language Models, automation platforms, and workflow integration.
- Leadership: Experience in building and leading cross-functional capability teams or communities of practice.
- Training Development: Skilled in identifying, curating, and promoting training resources for diverse, non-technical audiences.
- Communication: Strong executive communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders effectively.
- Travel Requirements: Willing to travel as necessary.
Pay Transparency
Ontra takes individual candidate location, experience, and skills into consideration when determining compensation. The base pay range is listed below.
Some positions may be eligible for additional compensation, such as commission, variable compensation, profits interest units, or other equity-based compensation, which are not included in the below base pay range.

Base Pay Range
$176,000—$264,000 USD

Travel Occasional travel is required for Ontra employees, including typically at least twice per year to attend team and larger group off-sites for in-person collaboration. For some roles, additional travel may be required based on the requirements of the role and business need.
