About the Role
Ontra is seeking a Senior Manager, Platform Engineering reporting to one of our Engineering Directors.
This person will lead multiple platform teams responsible for Ontra’s core platform and shared services. This role is both strategic and hands-on, owning delivery of high-impact platform initiatives while growing strong, resilient engineering teams.
You will be accountable for executing a roadmap that includes:
- Unified document ingestion and data models
- Billing and internal tooling that supports scalable SaaS growth
- Closely partner with ML platform team to deliver Global AI search and chat experiences across all products
This is a critical leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical architecture, people leadership, and cross-functional execution.

What You’ll Do
- Plan: Work with our Product and UX teams to understand customer needs and plan highly iterative, lean approaches to address those needs
- Scale: Guide the team to overcome all of the challenges that come with rapidly scaling a company, from technical scaling challenges to human growth scaling challenges
- Collaborate: Partner with other roles such as Product,UX, Architecture, ML, and DevOps to rapidly deliver solutions to our customers that also serve our long-term business objectives
- Inspire: Lead and motivate the team to embrace a high-performance culture where we all aspire to greatness
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 7+ years of experience as an individual contributor and 3+ years of technical leadership in a high growth, scaling company managing senior engineers
- Technical Leadership: A history of delivering scalable technical solutions that solve customer problems and scale as the business grows
- Team player: Ability to lead a team as well as work alongside them
- Soft skills: Great communication skills, an empathetic approach to teamwork, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a high performance development environment
Pay Transparency
Ontra takes individual candidate location, experience, and skills into consideration when determining compensation. The base pay range is listed below.
Some positions may be eligible for additional compensation, such as commission, variable compensation, profits interest units, or other equity-based compensation, which are not included in the below base pay range.

Base Pay Range
$259,200—$388,800 USD
