About the Role
OpenTable, part of Booking Holdings (NASDAQ: BKNG), is seeking a skilled and strategic Sr. Director of Global People Partners to join its People & Culture (P&C) team.
This role can be based in San Francisco, California, Norwalk, Connecticut, or New York, New York, with a hybrid work model of 2 days per week in office.
The Senior Director, Global People Partners is a senior leader within the P&C organization, reporting into the CHRO, and responsible for OpenTable’s People Partner strategy.
This leader serves as a trusted advisor to OpenTable’s executives and functional leaders across the organization. This role will lead and develop a high-performing team of People Partners, and is accountable for the overall quality and consistency of people partnership, ensuring every interaction is grounded in business context and aligned to company priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a senior people advisor to company’s executives and functional leaders
Lead and develop a team of US-based People Partners, as well as the head of the International People Partners
Establish clear expectations for business acumen, judgment, and impact across the People Partner team
Coach People Partners to operate as proactive, strategic advisors to the business
Lead and advise on organizational design decisions including reorganizations, role clarity, spans and layers, and operating model changes, partnering with leaders to build effective and scalable structures
Own and shape the People Partner strategy for performance management, merit planning, talent reviews, and succession planning, guiding teams through each process with clarity and consistency
Own and drive the resolution of complex employee relations matters and underperformance with urgency, fairness, and consistency, partnering closely with Legal to appropriately manage risk
Ensure People Partner practices align with global employment laws and regulatory requirements, company policies, and values
Drive alignment and seamless collaboration across People Centers of Excellence, including Total Rewards, Organizational Development, People Operations and Systems, Internal Communications, and Workplace, ensuring clear communication, effective handoffs, and a cohesive people experience
Qualifications
15+ years of progressive HRBP and management experience
Proven experience supporting executive and senior leadership teams in global, fast-scaling tech or tech-adjacent companies
Executive presence with the ability to influence, challenge, and advise senior leaders
Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing People Partner teams
Strong business acumen with a clear understanding of how people decisions impact operational and financial outcomes
Sound judgment and the ability to navigate ambiguity and high-stakes situations
Clear, calm, and credible communicator across all interactions, particularly when navigating difficult, sensitive, or high-stakes situations
Highly collaborative leader with a bias toward action and results

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this United States based role is $215,000 - $260,000.
We offer a competitive base salary and benefits including: health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, bereavement leave, floating holidays and paid holidays); and parental leave benefits. This role is eligible to be considered for an annual bonus and equity grant.
