Job Description
PA Consulting works globally across healthcare and life sciences to help organizations design, engineer, and deliver next‑generation products, technologies, and regulated solutions. Our teams combine deep technical expertise with world‑class design, engineering, human factors, digital, and scientific capabilities.
We are seeking a Client Engagement Lead to drive growth across Healthcare and Life Sciences, with a particular focus on opportunities aligned to PA’s Design & Engineering capabilities. This role is responsible for building senior‑level relationships, identifying high‑value opportunities, and shaping early‑stage pipeline activity across medical technology, diagnostics, life sciences R&D, and healthcare innovation.
This is a market‑facing, growth‑oriented role for someone who brings industry credibility, understands regulated development environments, and excels at connecting client problems with PA’s unique multidisciplinary expertise.
Market Development and Opportunity Creation
• Identify, qualify, and advance new business opportunities across healthcare, life sciences, medical technology, digital health, diagnostics, and regulated product development.
• Build and maintain senior‑level relationships across R&D, Innovation, Engineering, Product Development, Clinical, Regulatory, and Commercial leadership.
• Lead early discovery conversations and shape opportunities before they enter formal pursuit.
• Translate emerging industry needs into demand for design, engineering, human factors, systems engineering, and scientific services.
Collaboration and Opportunity Shaping
• Partner closely with Principals, technical leaders, and delivery teams to transition qualified opportunities into active pursuits.
• Position PA’s multidisciplinary capabilities, including design strategy, product engineering, usability and human factors, regulatory insight, data‑enabled design, and scientific problem‑solving.
• Manage early‑stage pipeline activity in CRM, including opportunity stages, stakeholder mapping, and engagement plans.
• Provide market, technology, and competitor insights to inform growth strategy and proposition development.
Brand and Market Presence
• Represent PA at key healthcare, life sciences, and design‑innovation conferences and networking events.
• Build PA’s visibility in emerging fields such as connected health, wearables, smart medical systems, diagnostics innovation, and platform‑based device ecosystems.
Qualifications
Required
• Strong industry experience and network within healthcare, life sciences, medical devices, diagnostics, or regulated product development environments.
• Proven experience in business development, consultative selling, or client leadership roles.
• Understanding of regulated R&D, product development lifecycles, and quality/regulatory considerations.
• Experience selling engineering, product development, digital health, or technical consulting services.
• Ability to engage credibly with senior technical, scientific, and commercial stakeholders.
• Strong communication, relationship‑building, and opportunity‑shaping capabilities.
Preferred
• Background in consulting, engineering services, medical technology, product development, or life sciences innovation.
• Experience supporting complex, multi‑stakeholder pursuits within matrixed organizations.
• Ability to translate complex technical challenges into compelling client value propositions.

Additional information
Hybrid working - our approach is to be in the office or on client site a minimum of 2 days per week. However, the actual time you spend and where you spend it will vary by role or assignment, including up to 5 days per week on a client site or at the office.

In compliance with Colorado’s, New York & Massachusetts’s Equal Pay Transparency Act, PA is required to provide a reasonable salary range for this role. This salary range is specific to the State of Massachusetts and is commensurate with experience, market data, applicant skills, internal equity and/or degrees/certifications. Salary Range: $145,100 - $190,000.
