Job Description
We are looking for exceptional, creative, curious and collaborative Senior Electronics Architect to join our team. You will have the chance to impact products developed for some of the biggest brands in the world while solving complex and ambitious engineering problems.
You will take a key role working in a fast-paced, collaborative and supportive environment, surrounded by people who want to deliver the very best for our clients. You will operate in multi-functional teams where our engineers work closely with designers and researchers to deliver new and exciting products and experiences.
This role is for a Senior Electronics Lead, a person who can demonstrate significant technical expertise and consultancy experience. You will support and lead projects and thrive on solving complex technical challenges. You bring curiosity, creativity, and a deep commitment to engineering excellence. You’re energized by turning inventive ideas into innovative products—and you know how to guide others in doing the same.
You will work in close collaboration with clients and our own multi-disciplinary teams to support across the whole product development cycle, from concept electronic platforms, to the creation of functioning technology demonstrators, and ultimately the delivery of products. Especially desirable are candidates who have previous experience in our core focus areas of consumer electronics. You communicate clearly and confidently with clients and colleagues alike, and you build trust through transparency, integrity, and collaboration. You’re not afraid to speak the truth, especially when it helps move the work forward.
Become part of the team
We offer you the opportunity to work and grow in a dynamic and supportive team environment. We are a forward-looking team, built to tackle what’s next. Our ambition is to create solutions that drive impact, define categories and make a difference for people, business and the planet. You will be guided to continually imbue these qualities in your work.
With full R&D facilities and a highly experienced team you will have the equipment, encouragement, and expertise to fully develop your concepts from early crafted visions through to fully working prototypes and design for manufacture. Our work environment is second to none - a fully equipped 1,500 sq m. combined studio, workshops and labs designed to maximise experimentation, creativity, and fast progress.
You will work across the whole development lifecycle for clients, offering a rare opportunity to work on early concept ideas and to see your ideas launched in the market.
Clients approach us with unique challenges that require a creative outlook and an adaptable skill set. The key technologies for our current projects include, but not limited to, battery powered embedded platforms, wearable technologies and close integration of novel electronics and mechanical design.
Increasingly we are bringing a sustainability focus to our work, developing solutions that support a more circular electronics economy; and we are building teams who are passionate about driving this important transition.
This is an electronics-centric role, but it also demands good embedded software and product development skills. It will be especially attractive to those who do not wish to be pigeonholed in one discipline.
We are looking for candidates with the following technical skills:
A proven track record of developing consumer centric embedded system architectures where functions are partitioned between hardware and software and where the form factor poses unique integration challenges.
Excellent concept ideation skills with the ability to work with product and marketing teams in order to translate product visions into realisable electronics architectures and to communicate those architectures to your development teams.
An excellent understanding of key embedded and battery technologies including low power processors, wireless communications SoCs and wireless/cabled battery management solutions.
Strong embedded software skills – especially low-level C-coding, device drivers and platform bring up. (knowledge of Nordic microcontrollers using Zephyr RTOS an advantage)
Comfortable working close to the electronics platform and working across electronics-mechanical and software-electronics boundaries.
Exposure to the full product lifecycle from concept generation through to product release including demonstrable experience of delivering your designs into consumer research trials and to the market.
A good understanding of the regulatory landscape of the EU and US and a proven track record of designing for compliance with appropriate standards for Consumer Electronics products.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable explaining complex engineering concepts to both a technical and non-technical audience.
We especially value colleagues who can:
Roll up their sleeves and work through challenges from first principles on the bench.
Innovate and think freely when tackling unfamiliar challenges,
Be empathic and supportive in the mentoring of less experienced engineers.
