At Personalis, we are transforming the active management of cancer through breakthrough personalized testing. We aim to drive a new paradigm for cancer management, guiding care from biopsy through the life of the patient. Our highly sensitive assays combine tumor-and-normal profiling with proprietary algorithms to deliver advanced insights even as cancer evolves over time. Our products are designed to detect minimal residual disease (MRD) and recurrence at the earliest timepoints, enable selection of targeted therapies based on ultra-comprehensive genomic profiling, and enhance biomarker strategy for drug development. Personalis is based in Fremont, California.

Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant with hands-on experience in accounts receivable, revenue accounting, and general ledger activities. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations with a strong emphasis on customer billing, collections, and revenue reconciliation, while contributing to month-end close and audit support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable & Revenue
- Perform accounts receivable functions, including billing, cash application, and collections
- Assist with revenue recognition activities in accordance with GAAP
- Maintain revenue schedules, deferred revenue, and contract liability reconciliations
General Ledger Close related
- Perform GL close, including journal entry preparation, accounts reconciliations, and fluctuation analysis
- Assist with internal and external audit requests
- Participate in process improvement initiatives
- Support ad hoc accounting analysis and special projects
Tax
- Coordinate with internal teams and external tax advisors to maintain tax-related schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts used for tax reporting, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Support tax-related audit requests, including documentation for income, sales/use, and payroll taxes
- Assist with tracking tax payments, notices, and correspondence
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5–7 years of accounting experience, with exposure to AR and revenue
- Tax exposure preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP is required
- Advanced Excel and ERP experience, knowledge of QAD a plus
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and highly motivated
- Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet deadline consistently and work well under pressure
- Team player with “can do” attitude
The hiring range for this position is $97,000 to $123,000 per year, which may factor in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus (or a sales incentive plan) and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
