Senior Platform Engineer
REMOTE
About the Role:
As a Senior Platform Engineer, your core responsibility will be to support and enhance Pondurance’s MDR Data Pipeline. You will focus on enhancing the durability and reliability of our HashiCorp-based, containerized Vector endpoints and the systems that deploy them.
You’ll be part of our Platform Engineering team, which brings together a broad range of technical expertise. We’re looking to add a DevOps-focused skill set, while also offering opportunities to contribute beyond the high-level responsibilities outlined in this posting as our environment continues to grow.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert for our GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Nomad–based CI/CD pipeline that deploys containers into customer environments
- Own and maintain the self-service deployment mechanisms for our platform frontend using GitHub Actions and Nomad
- Manage system and application configuration using Salt and HashiCorp tooling
- Oversee and maintain Docker-based systems to ensure reliable deployment and management
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and dataflow solutions using Datadog
- Participate in on-call rotations and root cause analysis (RCA)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Document processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to support knowledge sharing and team efficiency

- Linux across multiple environments (AWS EC2, Azure, Hyper-V, VMware, bare-metal)
- Terraform
- GitHub Actions (Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD tools)
- Nomad, Docker, Kubernetes, Docker Compose
- HashiCorp ecosystem tools
- Salt
- Datadog (monitoring, alerting, dataflow)
- Python
- Shell scripting
Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- 3+ years of experience in Platform, DevOps, Infrastructure, or SRE roles
- Strong proficiency in Linux systems administration across cloud and on-prem environments
- High level of competence with Terraform and CI/CD tooling
- Hands-on experience managing Docker-based and containerized systems
- Solid understanding of monitoring, alerting, and dataflow management
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python and Shell
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Slack, and Google Workspace
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

Although this is a remote role, if you live close by, you’ll have access to our office locations: McLean, VA or Indianapolis, IN.
