Job Description

Conflict Analysis Peer Facilitators will prepare for, facilitate, and assess conflict analysis workshops for summer experiential learning programs supported by the Davis Collaborative in Conflict Transformation.

This is a Middlebury student Level B position paying $14.95 per hour.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Complete facilitator training, individually and as a member of the Conflict Analysis Peer Facilitator cohort (in-person in March/April/May; remote summer)

  • Co-facilitate the experiential programs Conflict Styles workshop (in-person, May).

  • Gather and generate conflict case studies (examples) relevant to summer experiential learning program participants for use in trainings. See summer β€˜25 program info here: https://www.middlebury.edu/conflict-transformation/reaching-students/experiential-learning-and-community-engagement)

  • Prepare and facilitate Conflict Analysis workshops for summer experiential programs (remote)

  • Assess workshop outcomes

  • Support other members of the Conflict Analysis Peer Facilitator cohort as needed

  • Applicants must be a currently enrolled undergraduate at Middlebury with the intention of continuing enrollment in the fall of 2026

  • Available for up to 25 hours (total) of pre-summer work and training (March/April/May)

  • Available for 15-25 hours of remote work during the summer (June-August)

  • Group facilitation experience and/or interest in learning these skills

  • Time management

  • Experience in diverse linguistic and cultural contexts

  • Preference given to those who have participated in experiential learning programs supported by the Davis Collaborative in Conflict Transformation

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

Remote and in-person work required. Most activities will be limited to desk/computer work and/or workshops in classroom or office spaces.

Student Employment Eligibility:

Unless restricted by certain visa status, all students with an active status for the semester are eligible for jobs on campus.

Students on leave or withdrawn are not eligible to work in student employment positions until the semester in which they return. If you are currently withdrawn or on leave you are eligible to be employed in staff positions.

Some may be restricted due to financial aid status. International students (non-resident aliens) may not work off campus unless they have applied for and received work authorization from the United States government. (An F-1 visa does not give work authorization.) Off campus work study positions are available only to U.S. citizens on financial aid with a federal work study component .

Student are not eligible to work remotely from International locations.

Hour Limitations:

All student employees are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week in on campus jobs during the academic year (this includes exam periods). The only exception is when there is a full week when school is not in session. Specifically: February recess, Spring recess, and full weeks of December or summer recess. During these time periods only, students can work up to 40 hours per week. International Students: Visa restrictions prohibit international students from exceeding 20 hours of work per academic calendar week.
