THE ROLE
As an Associate Sustainability Consultant, you’ll support project teams in delivering sustainability insights and solutions for clients across diverse sectors. You’ll execute specific deliverables, conduct detailed analysis, and contribute to meaningful, impact-driven work. Working under the guidance of more senior team members to deliver client solutions across a variety of sustainability domains (such as corporate and product footprinting, nature (biodiversity, water), climate strategy & risk, land & agriculture, ESG reporting and stakeholder engagement), you’ll contribute to meaningful client work while building your consulting skills in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment.
This is a developmental role for early-career professionals with strong analytical capabilities, a genuine passion for sustainability, and a collaborative mindset. You’ll build consulting foundations and subject matter expertise through hands-on learning, guided by more experienced team members. You’ll explore various sectors and sustainability domains before specialising as you grow.

ARE YOU READY TO START YOUR PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY IN SUSTAINABILITY?
· You’re eager to apply your analytical or business skills to our mission of aligning businesses with planetary boundaries.
· You have relevant coursework or early experience (including internships), ideally with exposure to sustainability, consulting, or analytics.
· You’re comfortable with data analysis, modelling, and communicating complex ideas clearly.
· You think critically, generate insights, and apply sound judgment to real-world challenges.
· You have working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, or a motivation to learn quickly.
· You bring a Master’s degree or equivalent experience that prepares you to engage with sustainability topics (Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, Economics…).
· Whatever your background, you’re intellectually curious, have a science-based mindset, and are motivated to learn and grow.
· You’re comfortable stepping out of your comfort zone and working on different kinds of projects.
· You collaborate well with others and enjoy contributing to a team.
· You’re curious and comfortable exploring generative AI tools, while maintaining a critical and thoughtful mindset.
· You communicate effectively in fluent English.
WHAT YOU MIGHT ALSO BRING TO THE ROLE
· Exposure to corporate sustainability topics such as carbon footprinting, nature, land use, materiality, sustainable supply chains, stakeholder management or ESG reporting & disclosure.
· Familiarity with sustainability frameworks such as GHG Protocol and Science-Based Targets.
· Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Footprinting, and relevant softwares.
· Programming skills (e.g. Python, MATLAB, ArcGIS) and motivation to develop them.
WHEN YOU MIGHT BE READY FOR THE NEXT STEP
As you gain confidence and autonomy as an Associate Sustainability Consultant, you’ll be ready to manage project modules independently, own deliverables and apply your domain knowledge effectively in client interactions. Your next step will be Sustainability Consultant.
SOME OTHER DETAILS TO CONSIDER
Contract: Permanent
Location: Boston, New York, Chicago or Denver. Hybrid scheme. You might be expected to work at the client’s office and/or to travel there at times.
Optimal start date: As soon as possible
Punctual collaboration with other Quantis branches via web-conference
Ability to travel occasionally
Salary: $86,000
