Job Overview
This role serves a critical function in ensuring the health of our client relationships. This position works closely with internal and external parties to assess and resolve business interruptions caused by accumulated accounts receivable balances and broken processor connections. The Specialist manages their own assigned book of business and supports the overall health of our business. The Specialist II will also focus on high-dollar accounts and escalations that require additional expertise and skill to drive resolution.
This is a hybrid position that requires in-office presence 3 days a week in Chicago (Tuesday-Thursday).
What you’ll bring to the table: (Responsibilities)
- Engage in daily outbound communications (emails, phone calls, and text messages) with our clients in hopes of resolving business interruptions. Contact customers regarding overdue invoices and resolve any payment issues or processing interruptions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to drive positive outcomes while partnering with team leadership to train new employees and support the ongoing development of the Portfolio Health team.
- Attend daily team standups and weekly meetings, leading discussions at these meetings on a semi-regular basis
- Manage larger-balance marketing services and MCA accounts, serve as the primary point of contact for internal escalations, and independently oversee our portfolio of monthly billing accounts.
- Work to recover AR balances on aged marketing services accounts prior to write-off.
- Monitor incoming payments and ensure they are accurately recorded.
- Reconcile accounts receivable records with bank statements and other financial documents as provided by the customer.
- Enter payment and billing information into accounting software or systems.
- Prepare and maintain reports on accounts receivable status, including aging reports.
- Maintain organized records of all transactions, invoices, and payment histories within our systems for auditing and reference purposes.

Do you have the right mix of ingredients: (Requirements)
- HS Diploma or equivalency required, college degree in business or related field a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in an accounts receivable, client billing, or similar role.
- Experience in a fast paced operations department.
- Experience coaching and developing team members.
- Experience in a high volume collections environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and great communication habits.
- Ability to negotiate in a fast-paced setting to get to a resolution.
- Experience using SalesForce, AS400, Microsoft Office, and telephone systems.
- Ability and willingness to learn new skills and take on new tasks.
- Ownership mentality.

- This is a full-time, nonexempt position; the base compensation for this opening is expected to be $25-$32 per hour ($52,000-$66,560 annualized), based on candidate experience, skills, and other factors.
