Staff Software Engineer, Client Management

🇺🇸 United States - Remote
💻 Software Development🟣 Senior

Job description

Are you an experienced full stack engineer ready to tackle complex challenges with innovative solutions? Do you thrive in collaborative environments where your work can shape product design and team culture? Are you excited to apply your expertise in modern engineering frameworks and eager to leverage AI-enhanced tools to drive change in the fintech industry? If so, we invite you to be a part of our innovative team.

As a Staff Software Engineer at Ridgeline, you’ll have the unique opportunity to build high-quality, complex, FinTech industry-defining cloud applications for our Client Management solutions. Our engineers are developing cutting-edge technologies in a fast-moving, creative, and progressive work environment. You’ll think outside the box and add your own genius, passion, and interests to the software development lifecycle. Client Management is the entry into Ridgeline’s suite of applications, supporting portfolio onboarding, investor 360 views, and partner relationship management. This is your chance to influence the tech, culture, and outcomes of a rapidly growing product team. You’ll work with modern tools, including AI-powered resources like GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT, to build innovative solutions that challenge the status quo of investment management.

At Ridgeline, how we work matters as much as what we build. Ridgeliners act like owners, choose growth over comfort, and communicate with transparency. We assume positive intent, bias toward action, and bring solutions—not just problems. We celebrate wins, learn from setbacks, and thrive in a resilient, collaborative, high-performing culture. If the Ridgeline Way excites you, we’d love to meet you.

You must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

The impact you will have:

  • Be involved in the entire SDLC, from the inception of requirements and design reviews with our customer success, product management and design teams, through the implementation of new products
  • Contribute your extensive technical and architectural knowledge to an Agile team collaborating on strategy, design, engineering and testing
  • Demonstrate a strong dedication to code quality, automation and operational excellence through the creation of unit/contract/integration tests and robust logging/monitoring
  • Impact our developing tech stack based on modern frameworks and cost-efficient utilization of AWS services
  • Participate in the creation of automation that promotes scalable, high-quality applications that our customers will depend on to run their business
  • Think creatively, own problems, seek solutions and communicate clearly
  • Contribute to a collaborative environment deeply rooted in learning, teaching and transparency
  • Coach, mentor and inspire your teammates

What we look for:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Science or related discipline
  • 8+ years of experience in full stack engineering, with a strong background in developing and maintaining scalable software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications.
  • Demonstrated mastery of data structures, algorithms and architectural patterns.
  • Proficient in developing backend services, with experience using modern programming languages suitable for microservices architectures. Familiarity with containerization technology.
  • Understanding of API design and implementation (RESTful services, real-time data processing) and experience with messaging systems. Experience writing scalable/performant code that manages high volume numerical data and generated values where precision was essential.
  • Capabilities in building responsive interfaces using modern frontend frameworks and languages. Experience with CSS and component-based architecture.
  • Experienced with deploying and managing applications on major cloud platforms, with a focus on optimizing scalability and reliability.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and infrastructure as code (IaC) for efficient deployment and management of cloud resources.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools to ensure application health and performance. Ability to quickly diagnose and address production issues.

Bonus:

  • Knowledge of any of the following specific tools and technologies would be particularly advantageous:
    • Backend: JAVA and/or Kotlin as microservices using Docker
    • Transport: REST/JSON APIs, GraphQL, Kafka
    • Frontend: React, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS
    • Platform: AWS
    • Deployment: CI/CD, IaC (Terraform)
    • Logging/Monitoring: Datadog, PagerDuty
  • AI and code automation tools like ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot.
  • Experience with investment/asset management, CRM and/or invoicing applications
  • Background in finance or economics
