Job Description
We are looking for a Junior Design Engineer to join our engineering team, focusing on Body in White (BIW) and Interior/Exterior Trim components. This role is ideal for candidates at the beginning of their career who want to grow their technical skills in an automotive environment.
Main Responsibilities
Design and validation of BIW and Interior/Exterior Trim parts and systems
Creation and modification of 3D and 2D designs using CATIA V5/V6
Handling and updating data within PDM tools
Participation in dimensional stack-up studies
Preparation and maintenance of digital and physical model synthesis files
Application and compliance with design rules and customer specifications
Support in feasibility and costing (DFC) requests
Contribution to DFC evaluation files for product changes
Management of part lists and assembly details for production line integration
Support in technical convergence studies
Updating technical issue analysis files and action plans
Coordination of supplier documentation (IMP, IMDS, drawings)
Preparation of assembly agreements and parts validation summary files
Basic design calculation summaries and documentation updates
Qualifications
6 months – 1 year of experience in automotive design
Educational background in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related fields
Basic experience or exposure to BIW and/or Interior/Exterior Trim components
Knowledge of CATIA V5/V6 (3D & 2D)
Understanding of automotive design processes and documentation
Good communication skills and willingness to learn
Nice to have:
- Experience working on Stellantis projects
