About the Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated and impact-driven Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Science team. In this role, you will be responsible for solving complex, high-impact business problems using data science and machine learning, and building decision systems that directly influence customer experience and business outcomes.
You will work on ambiguous problems across the customer journey, partnering closely with product, engineering, and business teams to design, develop, and deploy data-driven solutions. This role requires strong ownership, the ability to translate business challenges into analytical frameworks, and a deep understanding of how to measure and drive business impact through experimentation. You will contribute to key areas such as personalization, pricing optimization and fraud detection, working closely with product, engineering, and business teams.
As a senior member of the team, you will also play a key role in shaping data science best practices, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to the long-term evolution of data science capabilities at SSENSE.
What You Will Do:
Business Impact & Data Support:
- Translate complex analytical results into actionable business recommendations.
Project Delivery:
- Own end-to-end development of data science solutions, from problem framing to production deployment and monitoring.
Ownership and Accountability:
- Own and Measure accuracy & performance of developed models & solutions.
Knowledge Sharing and Coaching :
- Contribute to the evolution of data science standards, methodologies, and tooling within the organization.
Architecture:
- Design scalable and maintainable data science solutions in collaboration with data engineering and ML platform teams.
Qualifications
4+ years of experience in Data Science or Analytics, with a track record of driving measurable business outcomes.
Strong understanding of advanced modeling techniques, such as machine learning, nonparametric approaches and neural networks.
Excellent programming skills using SQL, Python.
Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches.
Experience working on recommendation systems, pricing, search/ranking, or fraud problems, an asset.
Bilingualism (French & English) is required to communicate with our internal and external stakeholders.
