Territory: Miami, FL (Home-Based)
Are you a technically savvy sales professional who enjoys building relationships, solving customer challenges, and driving growth? Electro-Matic is looking for an Outside Sales Representative to grow and manage a high-potential territory in South Florida. In this role, you’ll own the full sales cycle and partner closely with customers to deliver innovative industrial automation solutions.
What You’ll Do
- As an Outside Sales Representative, you’ll be responsible for generating new business while strengthening long-term relationships with existing customers. You’ll engage with multiple buying influencers—including engineering, purchasing, quality, and senior leadership—to identify opportunities, propose solutions, and close business.
- You’ll execute a strategic sales plan for your territory, develop key accounts, and play a critical role in Electro-Matic’s continued growth.
Essential Functions
- Grow revenue by managing and expanding existing customer accounts
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new sales opportunities within the territory
- Build trusted relationships at multiple levels, including engineering, purchasing, quality, and executive leadership
- Travel throughout the assigned territory to meet with current and prospective customers
- Present product solutions through demonstrations, samples, and technical discussions
- Prepare pricing proposals, quotes, and sales contracts
- Forecast future business and maintain accurate pipeline and project data
- Collaborate with Inside Sales and Customer Service teams to support customer needs
- Resolve customer issues related to deliveries, orders, or project requirements
- Represent Electro-Matic at trade shows and industry events
- Stay current on products, technologies, and industry trends through training and professional development
- Manage travel and entertainment expenses within budget guidelines
Experience, Education and Skills
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred)
- 3+ years of outside sales experience in industrial automation or a closely related industry
- Experience with Siemens products strongly preferred
- Strong business acumen with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and accuracy
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to learn and use a CRM application
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Travel will be required including overnight stays
