MySureStart Inc., operating as SureStart, runs AI programs for K–12 and college students at various technical skill levels. Since 2020, we’ve partnered with schools and universities to teach AI. Our programs combine foundational learning with hands-on application, preparing students for the tech industry.

Our program has three phases: Train, Build, and Connect. In the Train phase, students learn AI skills through an interest-led, self-paced virtual curriculum, supported by one-on-one and group mentoring. The Build phase places students into small teams to develop AI-based solutions to real-world problems, ending with a virtual global Makeathon. The Connect phase includes industry expert talks, seminars, and networking opportunities, connecting interested students with SureStart partner companies for internships.

We focus on developing both technical and professional skills. Technical skills include machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, data analytics & visualization, and ethical AI development. Professional skills cover communication & networking, time management, cross-timezone collaboration, virtual presentation skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

We also partner with AI and AI-adjacent tech companies to help them build a diverse and inclusive tech and AI workforce. Our mission is to create greater access and equity in AI education and build early opportunity pipelines for a highly diverse tech workforce through technical skills training and project-based learning. We train and mentor high school and college students from communities underrepresented in AI, connecting them to hands-on work opportunities in DEI-focused tech startups. We aim to bring diversity of experiences, perspectives, and skills to AI by giving every high school and college student an equal chance to become an AI builder and change-maker.

We are a remote-first company with 1-10 employees. We foster an environment that emphasizes mentorship, with students receiving one-on-one and group support from experienced mentors. This mentorship provides knowledge, accountability, and encouragement, helping students envision their future in AI.

Our culture supports collaboration, as students work in small teams to develop AI-based solutions. We are dedicated to diversity, training talent across continents, time zones, cultures, and socio-economic statuses. Dr. Taniya Mishra is the founder and CEO.

We offer full-time employees a compensation range of $68,000 - $78,000 USD per year, including a year-end bonus. Roles require 20-40 hours per week depending on the position, with a start date of January 2026. All positions are remote. Full-time employees receive generous PTO, sick leave, and other well-being benefits.
