Develops reflective technology tools that measure and enhance participation in K-12 and higher education classrooms.

About Swivl

We founded Swivl in 2010 as an e-learning and education technology company. We initially focused on providing tools for classroom management. Since then, we’ve expanded our solutions to help K-12 and higher education educators and students build reflective skills and adapt for future learning using AI. Our reflective tools are used by over 75,000 schools worldwide.

We develop tools to address declining student participation in education. Our offerings include:

  • M2 technology: This technology uses voice and optional imaging to measure classroom participation, giving teachers immediate data. It measures indicators like quality class discussion, multiple student voices, sustained effort, working with complex ideas, class collaboration, teamwork, depth of thinking, transfer, and how well standards and curricula are taught. M2 technology does not report individual behavior, demand compliance, measure emotional states, penalize different teaching methods, punish quiet classrooms, store classroom records indefinitely, or share classroom data without consent.
  • The M2 Solution: This offering combines M2talk software with hardware to create high-participation learning experiences. It observes classrooms, displays live participation indicators, and offers teachers tips and guided experiences.
  • M2talk app: A software-only option that gives teachers feedback and measures participation inside and outside the classroom. It provides insights and detailed feedback that align with school frameworks, curricula, and learning science. The app also suggests Guides for upcoming classes and Talks to measure student cognitive participation.
  • Reflectivity: A connected video platform that allows teachers, coaches, and administrators to analyze captured classroom video. This platform helps optimize practices and provides examples for teacher professional growth.

Our solutions help coaches accelerate teacher growth, enable school leaders to operate with greater cohesion, and allow district leaders to implement changes more rapidly. For faculty and researchers, we connect theory to practice for teaching candidates. In higher education, we support faculty in designing deeper learning and give academic and district leaders insights into program vitality and student engagement.
