The Basics:
As a member of the Tanium Tax department, you will focus on all aspects of corporate tax and will work closely with key internal and external partners to support the corporate tax filings, tax provision and reporting, transfer pricing and audit defense. You will serve as a true partner to the organization, always approaching work with a lens of adding value to the company.
This position follows the Company’s hybrid schedule which currently requires employees to work in the office at one of the following locations a minimum of three days per week: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA.
What you’ll do:
- Partner with third party service providers to ensure international and US income tax filings and payments are completed accurately and timely.
- Prepare and/or review tax returns and supporting documentation.
- Stay up-to-date on new tax accounting pronouncements, prepare tax accounting journal entries and ownASC 740 calculations and reporting.
- Ownglobal tax reconciliations and transfer pricing calculations.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert and super user for tax technology and systems, identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, automation, and scalability.
- Responds to notices and represents the Company in communications with various tax agencies, as required.
- Administer Company policies regarding taxes, transfer pricing and internal controls.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships with internal teams to maintain current, accurate, and complete information for tax compliance and reporting purposes.
- Contribute to special projects and provide ad-hoc support such as tax planning, restructuring, tax research,business initiates,business partnersupport, and controversy.
- Cross-train to support indirect tax compliance process and reporting including VAT, sales & use tax, and property tax reporting.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance Accounting [MST/CPA preferred], with 3+ years of tax experience (public accounting experience isrequired; a mix of public and industry experience is preferred).
- Experience
- Strong tax technical skills and have experience with US federal, state, local and international tax compliance.
- Familiarity with the financial reporting standards of ASC 740.
- Systems experience with NetSuite.NetSuite ERP system and tax provision software such as Longview, Onesource, or Corptax preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Excel, required. Experience with analytic, ETL, and AI tools preferred.
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented individual with exceptional project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communicator.
- Adaptive to fast paced, changing environment and competing critical deadlines.
- Can act and operate independently.
- Proactive, high energy attitude geared towards achieving continuous improvement.

What you’ll get
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000 to $210,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
