The AVP, eCommerce leads and mentors a high-performing team of eCommerce experts, driving the vision, strategy, and growth of online sales and digital marketing across Amazon, PurePlay platforms, and National and Regional retailer websites.

Working across all of Wonderful’s iconic healthy food and beverage brands, including FIJI Water, Wonderful Pistachios, POM Wonderful, Citrus, and JUSTIN Wines, the AVP ensures cohesive strategy and scalable execution across a diverse, multi-brand portfolio.

This role is responsible for setting the enterprise eCommerce strategy, strengthening retailer partnerships through effective negotiation, and ensuring best-in-class execution across digital shelf and retail media. The AVP establishes the structures and systems that enable scalable growth, while serving as the voice of eCommerce across the organization, influencing cross-functional priorities, investment decisions, and long-term capability building.

This position will be based at our West Los Angeles, CA office. We work a hybrid schedule with an in-office requirement Monday-Wednesday and the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.

Job Description

Technical Leadership:

  • Possess a strong command of eCommerce ecosystems, performance metrics, financial drivers and operations in order to effectively lead priorities and strategy across PurePlay Platforms and National Retailer websites.
  • Ability to connect data, business acumen, experience, and strategic vision to build scalable systems and frameworks that drive decisive action and measurable results.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of navigating Amazon’s Vendor and Seller models including negotiating AVNs, managing accrual structure, chargebacks and shortages and high level of familiarity of Amazon’s commercial priorities, internal dynamics and way of working.
  • Provide strategic direction to advertising strategy on PurePlay Platforms, National Retail Media Networks and other media providers. Ensure digital advertising strategy and investments align with growth, profitability and brand objectives. Understand how to evaluate programs and measure success.
  • Define and uphold best-in-class digital shelf execution, including large-scale syndication across multiple retailer platforms, PDP optimization, keyword indexing, content strategy and ratings / reviews.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the broader retail environment, including trade investment, assortment, supply chain, in-store dynamics, and retailer negotiations to translate and support those realities into informed digital strategy and execution on retailer.com platforms.

Organizational Leadership:

  • Serve as the voice of eCommerce across the organization, educating cross-functional teams on channel dynamics, retailer expectations, and digital growth drivers. Advocate for eCommerce priorities in enterprise discussions, ensuring digital considerations are embedded in broader business decisions, planning processes, and resource allocation.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Brand teams, gaining buy-in for structures, budgets, and investment priorities that support eCommerce growth objectives. Build consensus in a complex matrixed environment and be able to influence without direct authority.
  • Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives, tailoring the message appropriately for leadership, marketing, and sales audiences. Demonstrate strong presentation skills, including advanced PowerPoint capabilities and the confidence to present effectively to both large and small groups, in person and virtually.
  • Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing eCommerce team, setting clear expectations, fostering accountability, and creating an environment where talent can grow and deliver measurable impact.
  • Demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and perseverance in navigating different businesses under one umbrella. Maintain composure and momentum through ambiguity, complexity, and pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple brands and competing priorities simultaneously, maintaining strategic focus while ensuring disciplined execution across diverse business needs.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in eCommerce, digital commerce or omnichannel leadership.
  • Proven experience within CPG, preferably food & beverage, but at minimum consumer retail environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing Amazon (1P imperative) and national retailer sites and Retail Media Networks.
  • Track record of driving measurable growth in revenue, margin, and digital market share.
  • Experience negotiating with major retail partners and media platforms.
  • Strong financial acumen with P&L responsibility and investment decision authority.
  • Experience building or transforming digital capabilities (e.g., in-housing media, implementing data platforms, syndication systems).
  • Advanced proficiency in analytics tools (BI platforms, retail analytics, digital shelf tools) and comfort working with data infrastructure.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization and developing high-performing talent.

Pay Range: $220,000 - $250,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
