FIJI Water is seeking an Ocean Analyst to play a key role in driving the performance and efficiency of our global ocean freight network across imports and exports.
Reporting to the Ocean Manager, this role blends analytics and operations to enhance carrier performance, optimize execution, and support a high-impact, fast-moving supply chain.

This position will be based at our West Los Angeles, CA office. We work a hybrid schedule with an in-office requirement Monday-Wednesday and the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.
Job Description
- Manage day-to-day communication and relationships with ocean carriers for import and export shipments
- Maintain and update ocean carrier contracts, rates, and surcharge changes in a centralized system
- Monitor contract validity, rate compliance, and Minimum Quantity Commitments (MQC) by carrier
- Track and manage demurrage, detention terms, surcharges, and cost exposure
- Monitor carrier space allocations and adherence to volume commitments for imports and exports
- Track carrier routings, transit times, schedules, and overall service reliability
- Partner with the Planning team on export forecasts, carrier allocations, and routing or transit changes
- Coordinate with the Supply team on import bookings, routing, transit times, and carrier-related issues
- Collaborate with Quality and Warehouse teams to ensure container and cargo condition upon arrival
- Review, verify, and support resolution of ocean freight invoices, purchase orders, and disputes in coordination with Finance
- Generate and manage carrier-related container and cargo claims, while supporting financial reviews, forecasting, and performance reporting
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in ocean freight, logistics, or supply chain operations
- Strong understanding of ocean freight contracts, carrier operations, and shipping terms
- Experience managing demurrage, detention, freight invoicing, and carrier claims
- Proven ability to analyze carrier performance, costs, and transit trends
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Financial awareness with experience supporting invoice review, budgeting, and forecasting
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of responsibilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across cross-functional and remote teams
- Proficiency in Excel (analysis, reporting) and logistics or transportation systems
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field
Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
