Job Description
The Thuma team is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Producer to join our creative team. This role requires someone with strong organizational skills and production expertise, ensuring that all photo and video projects are executed flawlessly from concept to delivery. You’ll work closely with our Art Direction team, photographers, videographers, and external vendors to bring creative visions to life while managing timelines, budgets, and logistics.
Thuma’s Headquarters is based in the historic Presidio neighborhood of San Francisco. This is a hybrid role that will be in office 3 - 5 days a week
In recognition of the personal and professional benefits that team members gain from time spent together in person, we organize a range of events throughout each year designed to bring our entire team together.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Art Direction team to organize and support photo and video productions end-to-end, from creative brief through shoot execution and post-production delivery.
- Coordinate all aspects of production logistics including timelines, budgets, talent bookings, location sourcing, permits, equipment rentals, call sheets, and production meetings.
- Operate with a resourceful, scrappy mindset — finding creative ways to maximize production value, streamline workflows, and deliver high-quality creative output while working efficiently within timelines and budgets.
- Oversee the end-to-end management and organization of photoshoot productions within Thuma’s internal studio environment.
- Manage multiple productions simultaneously while maintaining clear communication, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Support the Creative team in developing and tracking editorial production budgets, including annual planning, invoicing, reconciliation, expense tracking, and proactive cost-saving opportunities.
- Build and maintain detailed production schedules that align creative goals with operational execution.
- Oversee communication and workflows throughout pre-production, production, and post-production, ensuring timely delivery and organization of final assets.
- Manage relationships with external production vendors, agencies, photographers, videographers, stylists, editors, and freelance talent.
- Own administrative production tasks including digital file management, contract coordination, and maintaining organized and up-to-date production documentation.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve workflows, streamline communication, and elevate production processes across the team.
- Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, proactively identifying risks, blockers, and timeline changes.
- Manage product sample logistics including inventory tracking, delivery coordination, storage organization, and on-set product readiness.
- Oversee the end-to-end management and organization of Thuma’s storage units, ensuring inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Champion thoughtful production practices that support high-quality creative output while balancing timelines and budgets.
This Might Describe You
- 3–5 years of Production experience, ideally within an in-house creative team, marketing organization, or agency environment.
- Proven experience managing photo and video productions from concept through final delivery.
- Strong negotiation skills with experience managing vendor contracts, scopes, rates, and production fees.
- Deep understanding of production budgeting and the ability to translate creative vision into efficient, cost-effective execution.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple timelines, workflows, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strong communicator with a calm, solutions-oriented approach under pressure.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a proactive approach to file organization, documentation, and asset management.
- Strong understanding of the creative development process, particularly across photography and video production.
- Knowledge of digital asset management, file types, and delivery specifications.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Creative, Brand, Marketing, and external production partners.
- Existing network of photographers, videographers, stylists, editors, production vendors, and creative agencies preferred.
- Experience with Asana or similar project management tools is a plus.
- Studio management experience is a plus.
