Rate: $32 USD per hour (with an expected hourly throughput of reviewing 1,500 words)
DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking several Dutch (Netherlands) Freelance Editors/QAers to join our project. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative project; your creative contribution will be used to test and improve Machine Translation technology.
We will consider candidates with relevant editing skills or experience. Preference will be given to those with a professional background in editing and/or a graduate or undergraduate degree in literature, journalism, or creative writing.
Task Summary:
Editors/QAers will review original short stories to ensure accurate spelling, grammar, and guideline compliance. They will also provide constructive feedback to help improve plot, structure, character development, and other storytelling elements. Different rounds of review may be required for each story.
Requirements
Residence in the Netherlands
Idiomatic fluency in Dutch (Netherlands)
Excellent reading skills in Dutch (Netherlands) (grammar, spelling)
Working proficiency in English required, as all communication and task guidelines will be in English
Graduate or undergraduate degree in literature, journalism, or creative writing and/or proven experience in editing, proofreading or a relevant field.
Ability to start and complete tasks within the given deadline
Strong attention to detail
