Subject Matter Expert (Travel Expert)
DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking experienced Travel Expert Subject Matter Experts with familiarity across multiple geographies, strong travel-planning knowledge, and deep insights into global destinations. This role supports next-generation AI development by helping refine travel-related datasets and evaluate AI-generated travel content for accuracy, quality, and practical relevance.
Ideal candidates will have a background in professional travel planning, tourism services, or travel journalism. Your real-world knowledge of hotels, destinations, sightseeing logistics, and common traveler constraints will directly contribute to training and evaluating advanced AI systems used in travel planning and global navigation.
Main Responsibilities
Generate, review, and validate high-quality travel-related data for AI training
Evaluate AI outputs related to itineraries, destination recommendations, hotel descriptions, sightseeing planning, and route optimization
Assess content for accuracy, local realism, feasibility, and traveler-oriented decision-making
Provide expert feedback on model behavior, including suitability of recommendations, travel constraints, and regional nuances
Help build benchmark datasets covering global travel patterns, destination insights, and practical planning scenarios
Expert Profile
Travel agents or travel specialists with broad familiarity across various geographies and hands-on experience supporting travelers with diverse itineraries.
Key Skills
Understanding of what constitutes a good hotel (location, amenities, service quality, guest experience)
Knowledge of effective sightseeing, including prioritization, timing, logistics, and cultural highlights
Strong grasp of travel planning constraints, such as budget considerations, transportation limitations, seasonality, safety, and accessibility
Ability to contextualize recommendations for different traveler profiles and trip purposes

Requirements
5+ years of professional experience as a travel agent, travel planner, tour consultant, or travel-focused content specialist
Strong destination knowledge across multiple regions of the U.S. or globally
Ability to clearly explain travel logistics, hotel quality indicators, and itinerary strategy
Interest in AI/ML, recommendation systems, or travel analytics
Excellent analytical and communication skills
Previous experience working with AI evaluation, data annotation, or content review (preferred)
