Job Description
Trueline is seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer to join the team in Los Angeles, CA. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced structural engineer to take ownership of technical design on large Type I buildings while gaining meaningful exposure to leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration.
What You’ll Do as the Senior Structural Project Engineer:
- Lead structural analysis and design for steel, reinforced concrete, and composite building systems
- Develop detailed structural calculations and construction documents
- Partner closely with project managers to execute technically sound and efficient project delivery
- Coordinate with architects, BIM designers, and outside consultants throughout design and documentation phases
- Contribute to seismic design, evaluation, and retrofit efforts
- Participate in client meetings and technical coordination sessions
- Support QA/QC reviews to ensure design excellence and code compliance
- Navigate California building codes and agency requirements with confidence
Must-Haves as the Senior Structural Project Engineer:
- 5-8 years of experience in structural building design within a consulting environment
- Demonstrated experience designing large steel and reinforced concrete structures
- Strong understanding of structural analysis and seismic engineering principles
- Experience contributing to multidisciplinary design teams
- Clear communication and strong organizational skills
- Authorization to work in the United States
Nice-to-Haves as the Senior Structural Project Engineer:
- SE license or active pursuit of SE licensure
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field
- Experience with DSA or HCAI-regulated projects
- Seismic retrofit experience, including ASCE 41 familiarity
- High-rise or other Type I construction experience
