We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategically minded finance professional to join our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will serve as a critical partner to the business, providing the high-level analytics and reporting necessary to scale our global operations. You will gain a deep understanding of Twist Bioscienceβs unique financial structure and strategic goals while owning the metrics that drive our decision-making.
Hybrid Position: Tue, Wed, Fri - In office, SSF
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Analytics: Deliver value-added analysis highlighting key variances, risks, and trends. Transform raw data into actionable insights for company performance.
- Performance Reporting: Lead the reporting of financial and business performance against key KPIs, providing deep-dive explanations for actual vs. budget/forecast variances.
- Integrated Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain complex financial models encompassing all three financial statements. Perform benchmarking and period-over-period trend analysis.
- Public Company Support: Own end-to-end analysis for Quarterly Earnings Call requirements, including CapEx, Working Capital, Free Cash Flow, and ROIC.
- Budgeting & Close: Support the Annual Budget process and prepare comprehensive reporting materials for month-end and quarter-end close reviews.
- Modernization & BI: Develop and implement sophisticated Excel models and leverage BI/Planning tools to automate data analysis and drive continuous improvement.
- Strategic Projects: Support acquisition integration, evaluate market opportunities, and perform “should-cost” or “make-vs-buy” analysis to prioritize product development.
Position Requirements
- Education: Bachelorβs degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Experience: 3β5 years of progressive experience in financial planning, analysis, and sophisticated modeling.
- Technical Mastery: High aptitude in Excel Decision Modeling and proficiency in SAP (or similar ERP systems).
- Financial Literacy: Deep understanding of the inter-relationships between the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.
- Communication: Proven ability to “translate” complex financial data for non-financial stakeholders and executives.
- Problem Solving: A self-starter capable of managing complex projects and implementing new planning processes in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Certifications: CPA.
- Data Viz: Experience with Business Intelligence platforms like Power BI or Tableau.
- Industry: Prior experience in the Biotechnology or life sciences sector.
Travel: Candidate is expected to travel approximately 10% of the time
The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations.
