About the Team
We build and maintain the data pipelines, tracking systems, and platform components that power Typeform’s data ecosystem. We partner closely with Data Science, Analytics, and Platform Engineering to deliver trusted, scalable data assets that teams across the business rely on every day.
We’re modernizing our stack and there’s real work to do — processes are still maturing, ownership is being clarified, and we’re looking for engineers who want to help build things the right way from here.
About the Role
This is a 12-month fixed term contract. We’re at an exciting but demanding point in our data platform journey, and we need extra capacity to help us move faster. There’s real, meaningful work to do here — and plenty of scope to make your mark.
We’re looking for a Data Platform Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of our core data infrastructure. You’ll work on pipelines, platform tooling, and data quality, helping us scale reliably and build good engineering habits along the way.
You’ll report to the Senior Data Platform Manager and collaborate closely with Analytics, Data Science, and Platform Engineering. This is a hands-on role — you’ll spend most of your time building, fixing, and improving, with growing opportunities to shape technical decisions as you settle in.
What you’ll do
Platform development & maintenance
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery across the organization
- Contribute to the design and improvement of our data warehouse and lakehouse architecture
- Help consolidate and improve fragmented tooling, replacing manual processes with automated, repeatable solutions
- Support data quality, lineage tracking, and observability across our pipelines
- Work within our CI/CD workflows and contribute to infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform
Collaboration & documentation
- Partner with Analytics Engineering, Data Science, and Platform Engineering to understand data needs and deliver reliable platform capabilities
- Document data workflows, ownership guidelines, and engineering decisions to improve team clarity
- Contribute to the development of shared templates, standards, and best practices for pipeline development
Growth & learning
- Deepen your understanding of streaming architectures, data governance, and modern platform patterns
- Work alongside experienced engineers and take on increasing ownership of platform components over time
What you bring
- Solid experience as a data or software engineer working with data pipelines, warehousing, or platform infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with tools like Python, SQL, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with cloud-native data infrastructure and batch or streaming data processing
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate clearly across technical teams
- Comfort working in ambiguous environments where not everything is defined yet
Extra awesome
- Experience with Kafka or similar streaming technologies
- Exposure to data governance frameworks or data quality tooling
- Background in a B2B SaaS or product-led company
- Familiarity with reverse-ETL, data contracts, or event-driven architectures
