Job Description
We work together.
Your team and the people you will work with make up our Creative & Brand function. As a Midweight Conceptual Copywriter, you’ll be a guardian of the UW voice, taking a lead role within the copy team. You will work in close creative partnership with designers and the film team to ensure visuals and words align perfectly. You’ll also interrogate briefs alongside Marketing and the Creative Director to uncover the real creative opportunities that drive our business goals.
We deliver progress.
What you’ll do and how you will make an impact: You will turn the complexity of utilities into human, engaging stories that resonate with our customers. Your responsibilities include:
- Developing the Big Idea: Delivering creative concepts that hit commercial marks and meet deadlines.
- Brief Interrogation: Digging into briefs to find the “hook” and the true creative opportunity.
- Tone Guardianship: Ensuring the UW voice remains consistent, sharp, and authentic across all outputs.
- Strategic Pitching: Presenting your work with a clear rationale that links creative execution back to business objectives.
- Results-Driven Analysis: Using post-campaign insights to refine and prove the effectiveness of your creative ideas.
- Agile Delivery: Managing multiple briefs simultaneously while staying calm under tight production schedules.
Qualifications
We put people first.
It’s all about you. You are a proactive and independent problem-solver with a knack for finding a unique “hook” in every brief. You thrive in a collaborative workshop environment and aren’t afraid to offer constructive friction to defend a creative decision. To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Agency Experience: At least 3 years as a conceptual writer (ideally agency-side) with a standout integrated portfolio.
- Multi-Platform Writing: Expertise in writing and editing for TV, social, CRM, and long-form content.
- Sharp Craft: An obsessive eye for detail and a clean, impactful writing style.
- Production Literacy: Experience briefing and directing talent, VO, and sound design.
- Strategic Presentation: Competence in building compelling decks (Google Suite) to tell a project’s story.
- Market Awareness: A finger on the pulse of industry trends and consumer insights.
