Performance Marketing Specialist

Job description

Type: Full-time

About CarBuzz: CarBuzz is a leading source of comprehensive automotive news and features for over 5 million monthly visitors. Our detailed, expert reviews of new models on the market, coupled with a range of shopping tools, provide valuable assistance to those in the market for a new car, SUV, or truck. We are committed to delivering up-to-date and reliable automotive news and features to our readers.

The Role

We’re looking for a Performance Marketing Specialist to drive measurable growth across paid channels for CarBuzz. You’ll own campaign execution and optimization across key acquisition platforms, partnering closely with Editorial, SEO, Data/Analytics, and Revenue to scale our marketplace efforts.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Plan, launch, and optimize paid campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads (Search/Discover/YouTube), Meta, TikTok, X, Reddit, and/or programmatic partners (channel mix based on business needs).
  • Own performance outcomes (CPA/CAC, ROAS where applicable, CTR, CPC, conversion rate, session quality), and report weekly/monthly insights with clear recommendations.
  • Run structured experiments (A/B and multivariate tests) on targeting, bidding, creatives, and messaging—maintaining an always-on testing pipeline.
  • Develop audience strategies including remarketing, lookalikes, interest targeting, contextual targeting, and lifecycle segmentation.
  • Implement and maintain tracking using GA4, Google Tag Manager, pixels, and UTMs.
  • Support monetization initiatives by driving traffic to the marketplace.
  • Manage budgets and pacing across brands and channels, ensuring efficient spend and clear forecasting.
  • Monitor market and platform trends (auto seasonality, model-year shifts, new features like PMax updates, attribution/privacy changes) and quickly translate them into execution.

Skills We’re Looking For :

  • 2–5+ years hands-on experience in performance marketing / paid media (in-house, agency, or both).
  • Proven ability to optimize to outcomes, not just clicks (conversions, subscriptions, lead-gen, revenue where applicable).
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Google Ads (Search, YouTube, Discover; PMax a plus)
    • Meta Ads Manager
    • GA4 + Google Tag Manager, UTMs, pixels, attribution basics
  • Comfortable analyzing performance in spreadsheets and BI tools (Looker Studio/Tableau a plus).
  • Excellent written communication—able to translate numbers into clear actions and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Highly organized: campaign hygiene, documentation, experimentation discipline, budget pacing.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in media/publishing, high-volume content environments, or affiliate-driven models.
  • Familiarity with SEO/content strategy and how paid can amplify editorial wins.
  • Experience with YouTube growth or paid video creative testing.
  • Programmatic, native (Taboola/Outbrain), or Reddit/X/TikTok experience.
  • Basic SQL, BigQuery, or analytics engineering collaboration experience.

Feel Free To Include:

  • Portfolio of work
  • Client Testimonials
  • Anything related to your experience in the industry

We will get back to you as soon as possible if we think you’d make a solid addition to the team.
