Job Description
Position Purpose:
The Business Development Manager –Energy Management is tasked with driving revenue growth and cultivating strategic commercial relationships throughout the energy industry’s key sectors. This role is pivotal, bridging technology, energy markets, and infrastructure development. We seek an ideal candidate with extensive industry expertise—whether gained through a senior role in consultative services, commercial real estate, or facilities management—and a demonstrated history of successfully executing intricate commercial partnerships.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities for Hubgrade energy management solutions across multiple facility types including commercial real estate, campuses, industries, utilities, public facilities, and healthcare organizations.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market presence.
- Articulate value propositions around increased utility cost recovery, reduced carbon footprint, higher tenant satisfaction, reduced unexpected repairs, increased efficiency, and time savings.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers including facility managers, energy managers, CFOs, and sustainability directors.
- Collaborate with technical teams to design customized solutions incorporating data sources (utility meters, tenant submeters, chillers, boilers, renewables, occupancy sensors) and integration protocols (Modbus, BACnet, API, CSV, SFTP).
- Prepare and deliver proposals, contracts, and presentations that demonstrate ROI and measurable results.
- Stay current on energy management trends, sustainability regulations, Energy Star requirements, and GHG emission reporting standards.
- Manage sales pipeline and maintain accurate records in CRM system.
- Achieve quarterly and annual sales quotas.
Work Environment:
- Boston Based position.
- This is a hybrid role requiring a balance of in-office presence and in-person meetings with prospective clients.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in energy management, building automation, sustainability solutions, or facility management software.
- Experience with consultative selling and solution-based sales approaches.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of energy management concepts, utility billing, and building systems (HVAC, lighting, etc.).
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 50%.

Pay Range: $120000 to $150000 per year + variable compensation based on objectives.
