About the Role:

As a Technical Engagement Manager at Vercel, you will play a pivotal role in driving customer outcomes by providing technical leadership on pre-sales Professional Services pursuits and post-sales delivery of customer engagements. You will collaborate closely with the account team to scope, solution, and estimate professional services programs, while ensuring the delivery of outcomes that align with customer business and technical goals. This role also contributes to the growth and maturity of Vercel’s Professional Services, helping build new migration offerings and enhance delivery capabilities. This role is fully remote and will report to the Global Head of Professional Services. Occasional travel may be required.

If you’re based within a pre-determined commuting distance of one of our offices (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), the role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.   • Post-Sales Technical Delivery Leadership (60%)
    1. Act as the technical delivery leader for Professional Services engagements, ensuring customer outcomes are achieved within scope, schedule, budget, and resource constraints.
    2. Work backwards from customer business and technical outcomes to define success criteria and delivery plans.
    3. Manage cross-functional delivery teams, including internal and external stakeholders, to ensure seamless execution.
    4. Monitor project health, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
    5. Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, fostering strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Pre-Sales Technical Leadership (25%)
    1. Partner with the account team to lead technical pursuits, including scoping, solutioning, and estimating effort for migration programs.
    2. Develop tailored proposals and statements of work (SOWs) that align with customer needs and Vercel’s capabilities.
    3. Present technical solutions to customers, addressing their business and technical challenges.
    4. Collaborate with sales and solutions engineering teams to ensure alignment on customer requirements and proposed solutions.
  • Professional Services Maturity Contributions (15%)
    1. Contribute to the development of new migration offerings and service offerings, leveraging customer insights and industry trends.
    2. Help mature Vercel’s Professional Services delivery capabilities by defining best practices, templates, and frameworks.
    3. Mentor and guide team members to enhance their technical and delivery expertise.
    4. Collaborate with internal teams to refine processes and tools for improved efficiency and scalability.

About you:

  1. You have 7+ years of experience in consulting, technical delivery, or customer-facing roles, with a focus on platform migrations, composable commerce implementations, or similar complex technical projects.
  2. You possess a deep understanding of modern web architectures, including headless CMS, composable commerce, and frontend frameworks.
  3. You have a proven track record of leading both pre-sales technical pursuits and post-sales delivery engagements, ensuring customer success and satisfaction.
  4. You excel at managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders, balancing competing priorities to deliver results.
  5. You are a strong communicator, capable of translating technical concepts into business value for customers and internal teams.
  6. You have experience working with cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.

Bonus if you:

  1. Experience with Vercel’s platform or similar edge computing and frontend cloud platforms.
  2. Knowledge of e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, BigCommerce, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  3. Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools like Jira or Asana.
  4. A background in software development or engineering, enabling you to deeply understand technical challenges and solutions.
  5. Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS or technology company.

The San Francisco, CA pay range for this role is $178,000.00 - $260,000.00 OTE. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location, and the total package includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
