Job Description
Required education and certifications critical for the role- A degree (equivalent or relevant qualification) in Data Analytics, IT or Science 3rd level qualification with high analytical content (such as data analytics / statistics / computer science) would be advantageous
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
In this role you will be part of ACIA’s Data Products Team, which is dedicated to delivering data, insight and innovation through analytics, engagement, and consultancy services to our clients, colleagues and carrier partners.
You will lead the delivery of high value analytics projects using Aon’s suite of analytical tools (Power Bi, Tableau, Sigma etc.) supported by our data warehouse (Databricks, Snowflake, etc.).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities will be:
- Delivering data and insights through a strong working knowledge of data and analytical tools.
- Interrogating databases such as Databricks, Snowflake etc. for ad-hoc and project-specific purposes
- Demonstrate expertise in analytics and data insights and visualisation using tools such as Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, Sigma etc.
- Stakeholder management by supporting the business in delivering its objectives
- Innovation and creation of new products and tools.
Ways of Working:
- Experience of delivering through Agile Scrum/Kanban by supporting product backlog and product requirements as articulated by product owners and stakeholders
- Collaborate with colleagues across other functions such as technology, data engineering, data science, project management, compliance etc.
Learning and Development:
- Support other analysts through the implementation of best practices of analytics, through knowledge sharing, through mentoring and formal training.
- Become an expert in new technologies that are introduced across Aon and the ACIA by upskilling through focused training and self-learning.
- Participate in and contribute to our Data Analyst Chapter forums and activities.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Experience working in product teams with focus on designing and developing analytical capabilities
- Strong working knowledge of SQL, and proficient in interrogating databases such as AWS, Snowflake, SQL Server, Databricks etc.
- Fluent presentation and communication skills and ability to convey technical analyses and information in a clear and concise manner to a wide variety of collaborators
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Demonstrated business analysis experience with successful delivery of product or business
- change outcomes.
- Strong data analytics skills, including experience querying data (preferably with SQL) and
- working with reporting or BI tools.
- Experience working with data in product or platform teams, focusing on analytical or
- reporting capabilities (e.g., understanding datasets, validating calculations, supporting
- report design).
- Ability to interpret and explain analytical findings in a clear and concise way to non‑technical
- stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and Agile skills; able to work independently and in teams.
- Experience in digital product/platform development and engaging with multi-functional
- teams.
- Proven ability to take ownership of stakeholder deliverables and communicate effectively.
- Design Thinking mindset, with customer journey and experience design expertise.
- Track record of completing projects within agreed scope and timelines.
- Relevant third-level qualification or equivalent experience
