Job Description
We are currently looking for a Senior Healthcare Interoperability Support Specialist for a 100% remote position supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project. This role provides technical support for deployed EHR, HIE, FHIR, API, and interface services, helping facilities, vendors, and integration partners resolve issues and use those services effectively.
The specialist works independently and coordinates with engineering, onboarding, testing, and platform teams. The role may also provide technical guidance to the support team.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities
- Provide centralized technical assistance to healthcare facilities, vendors, developers, and integration partners using deployed interoperability services.
- Troubleshoot EHR, HIE, FHIR, API, interface, connectivity, configuration, onboarding, and data-exchange issues.
- Work with users and technical stakeholders to define issues, identify root causes, and coordinate solutions across engineering, onboarding, testing, and platform teams.
- Maintain knowledge-base articles, troubleshooting procedures, known-issue records, and resolution guidance.
- Document defects, fixes, configuration changes, and recurring issues to support operations and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical guidance and onboarding support, and perform validation testing to confirm issue resolution and system readiness.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of related experience in technical support, systems integration, healthcare IT, or a related field.
- Experience troubleshooting healthcare interoperability services, including EHR integrations, HIE connections, FHIR services, APIs, or interfaces.
- Ability to diagnose connectivity, configuration, and data-exchange issues and identify root causes.
- Experience documenting and tracking technical issues, defects, resolutions, and support procedures.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues and solutions to users, vendors, and technical teams.
- Ability to work independently, coordinate across teams, and guide others through complex support issues.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience supporting facility or vendor onboarding for healthcare data-exchange services.
- Experience using remote support software, IT help desk systems, and knowledge-base tools.
- Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare systems or other federal Health IT programs.
Security Clearance Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- All selected candidates must successfully complete a background check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including required fingerprinting, when required for the position.
