ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.
Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
POSITION SUMMARY:
World Relief is seeking a talented part-time Marketing and Communications Coordinator for its Southern California office. The ideal candidate is a creative, solution-oriented content marketer with strong editorial skills and a passion for justice for immigrants. This role involves collaborating across teams to execute marketing strategies that expand reach, strengthen reputation, and increase support from churches, volunteers, and donors, helping advance World Relief SoCal’s mission.
This is a part-time position for 24 hours per week. Hybrid Schedule: 2 days in the office, 3 work from home days.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in executing top-of-the-funnel, strategic marketing and communications plan for the SoCal office.
- Collect and create high-impact content via interviews/photo/video/audio in collaboration with program staff, volunteers, donors, and clients to increase visibility and story-telling to clearly convey program impacts for donors and our general audience.
- Manage and schedule marketing and communications content calendar (mass email marketing and social media content) to work across departments with a busy and active team.
- Create content to be shared through World Relief platforms (website, blog, e-newsletter, social media, and outreach marketing materials) using Ethical Storytelling principles.
- Lead organizational commitment to ethical storytelling and ensure best practices are being upheld.
- Oversee and manage World Relief SoCal’s online presence: website, Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, Lnk.bio, and Youtube.
- Research, brainstorm, and execute initiatives to grow and engage new social media audiences.
- Analytics-driven social media innovation.
- Engage with home office marketing team on national level for tracking metrics.
- Organizing and segmenting mass-marketing email lists and creating targeted content for each segmented audience.
- Develop print materials for program outreach and promotion in various languages for clients.
- Developing materials for fundraising and marketing campaigns, events, and other external opportunities.
- Attend appropriate team and staff meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals’ For the Health of The Nation document
- B.A. in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or other related field of study OR at least 2 years of experience in this field.
- Excellent verbal and creative writing communication skills, including editing and proofreading.
- Strong visual storytelling ability through photography and/or graphic design.
- Fluent with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, SharePoint, Planner, Teams), Content platforms, Hubspot, and Meta (or other analytics tools).
- Cross-cultural experience, familiarity with immigrant rights and advocacy, commitment to justice.
- Willingness to learn, ask for help, communicate directly, and accept new responsibilities as you grow.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with various deadlines.
- Ability to work in a hybrid capacity, with a combination of in-person and virtual teams and meetings.
- Proactive problem solver with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high quality work.
- High degree of confidentiality with regards to client/donor information.
- Requires a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fluent in Spanish.
$24.21 - $27.86 an hour
