We founded Wowza in 2005 to provide reliable, scalable video solutions. We offer an integrated video platform and on-premises streaming server software, notably Wowza Streaming Engine, for live streaming and video-on-demand (VOD) applications. Our technology handles video delivery challenges, ensuring secure and reliable experiences. Our solutions support on-premises, air-gapped, offline, hybrid, edge, and cloud infrastructures. They are compatible with multiple operating systems, architectures (x86_64, ARM64), and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

The platform supports ingest protocols like RTSP, RTMP/RTMPS, SRT, WebRTC, RTP/UDP, MPEG-TS, and file-based VOD. It also supports delivery protocols including HLS/LL-HLS, MPEG-DASH, WebRTC, RTMP, and RTSP. Supported codecs include H.264, H.265/HEVC, VP8, VP9, Opus, AAC, and MP3.

Our features include transcoding and packetization (low-latency transcoding, protocol transmuxing, recording, clipping), video intelligence (object detection, event logging, BYOM AI support), and integration via API, SDK, Java modules, and custom workflows. We are a SOC 2 compliant provider. We offer security features like TLS/HTTPS, AES-128 HLS encryption, source authentication, token-based access, multi-DRM support (Widevine, FairPlay, PlayReady), and watermarking.

Our technology powers video implementations in media, enterprise, government, aerospace, healthcare, public safety, live sports and esports, OTT services, and various events and surveillance applications. We have powered over 35,000 video implementations globally and report over 200,000 instances running at any given time across 140 countries.
