The Role
The Director, Content at Wpromote is the driving force behind the ideas, narratives, and stories that power the agency’s brand and growth. This role shapes and delivers content that clearly articulates Wpromote’s point of view, turning strategy into standout thinking across our owned channels through smart, scalable, AI-enabled workflows. Partnering closely with Agency Marketing and Strategy, the Director, Content owns content from concept to impact, translating insight into work that challenges convention and differentiates the brand.
The Director, Content is deeply embedded in the work, writing, editing, and setting the editorial bar for the agency. With strong convictions and a willingness to take thoughtful risks, this role requires sound judgment and a sharp point of view to push the brand forward. As a Director-level individual contributor within a lean marketing organization, you’ll own Wpromote’s content function end-to-end while remaining hands-on in editorial decision-making and execution.

The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $110,000 - $125,000, based on consideration of a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above).

You Will Be
- Owning content priorities and editorial direction for Wpromote, in close partnership with Agency Marketing and the Strategy team, ensuring enterprise positioning and strategic narratives are translated into clear, differentiated, high-impact content programs
- Leading end-to-end execution of content initiatives, from scope and timelines to distribution and ongoing optimization
- Setting the editorial bar for Wpromote, defining what “great” looks like and making final calls on tone, POV, and narrative direction across channels
- Prioritizing and making tradeoffs across initiatives to ensure focus, quality, and alignment within a lean team and limited production capacity
- Building and leveraging AI-supported content workflows to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability, while maintaining strong human editorial judgment and quality control
- Producing content creation across multiple formats and channels, including blogs, newsletters, social content, webinars, case studies, press releases, media statements, award submissions, and longer-form assets, while owning writing and editorial quality through drafting, editing, and final review
- Developing content with a clear, differentiated point of view, using thoughtful provocation to build Wpromote’s brand voice and advance meaningful perspectives rather than adding noise
- Managing the agency blog as an ongoing program, including editorial planning, publishing cadence, and updates
- Managing content optimization efforts, including SEO-informed updates and improvements, in partnership with internal teams
- Driving performance measurement for key content programs and using insights to inform planning and optimization decisions
- Collaborating with Brand, Design, Website, Demand Generation, and Event teams to ensure alignment with broader marketing efforts
- Managing event content development (presentation decks) and post-event content creation (ex: event recaps, formal video recording, interviews, etc)
- Staying ahead of content and marketing trends with a natural curiosity for new ideas, formats, and approaches, and thoughtfully applying what’s relevant to our work
You Must Have
- 7 to 10+ years of experience in content, editorial, or marketing roles within B2B, agency, or related environments
- Strong writing and editing skills, with experience developing and refining content across multiple formats and channels
- Demonstrated ability to develop content with a clear, differentiated point of view, including experience pushing beyond safe or conventional narratives while maintaining credibility and relevance
- Experience shaping and maintaining a distinct editorial voice, with the judgment to challenge conventions and push perspectives in a way that is credible, relevant, and aligned with brand goals
- Demonstrated experience managing ongoing content programs such as blogs, newsletters, or organic social content
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with comfort owning timelines, priorities, and cross-functional coordination
- Working knowledge of SEO principles and how they inform content planning, optimization, and performance improvement
- Experience collaborating with senior stakeholders and interviewing subject matter experts to translate complex ideas into clear, effective content
- Analytical skills and comfort using performance data to inform decisions and improve content outcomes
- Experience using AI-supported tools to assist with research, drafting, and content production, balanced with strong editorial judgment and human-led review
- Strong editorial judgment and taste, with the ability to distinguish between content that is timely and valuable and content that simply adds noise
